NARRATIVE POV

"Wake up, sleepy head." Xavier yanked the comforter and sheet from Penelope's body.

"Alright, alright, alright." She groaned, sitting up from the bed and stretching her arms over her head.

"What do you want from the breakfast area downstairs?" Xavier asked as he slipped off his plaid pants and replaced them with khaki pants.

"A waffle, eggs, and bacon please. Oh, and the secretion of a cranberry." Penelope stoop from the bed and pulled back the covers on her side before grabbing a wash cloth and dry towel from the nearby counter.

"Alright, got it." He shook his head and headed for the door.

As he was gone from the room, Penny showered and dressed herself. She put cocoa butter lotion onto her body and put on her burnt orange midkini and stone washed shorts. She adjusted her new necklace on her neck so that the clasp would be in the back  of her neck as she stood in the mirror. She cracked a smile. Thinking of how amazing her only friend was. She went over their memories in her head from Kindergarten graduation, to when she started her first period at their first freshman party, to Xavier's first heartbreak.

"Okay, I don't know if you're in the nude or what but I have your food." Xavier partially closed his eyes as he roamed into the motel suite.

"Thanks. You can open your eyes." She giggled, grabbing her plate and cranberry juice from his grasp.

"Your bathing suit is... nice." Vie's eyes wandered around the room as he complimented his friend.

"Thank you." She answered, stuffing her face with waffle.

After she was done eating, the duo checked out from the hotel and left for the coast where they would depart for their cruise. Once they arrived, they dropped the boat off along the coast and placed the car in the parking structure where it'd be stationed for the next seven days.

The two climbed onto the boat and Xavier started the engine. They began to go forward and before they knew it, they were off deep into the ocean.

"It's so beautiful." Penelope exhaled as she stood against the railing on the front of the boat.

"Just like you- your hair." Xavier cleared his throat. "It looks good in the wind." He gave her a faux smile. She made him feel nervous the same way he made her feel. "Let me take a picture of you." He gave a legitimate boyish grin. She nodded in agreement and jokingly posed along the rail. She gave the camera a few pouts and crocodile smiles.

"Great." Xavier smirked, placing his phone back into his pocket.

"So, what did the weather call for today?" Pen asked, sitting in the chair beside him.

"Sunny as hell. 102 degrees." Xavier answered, parking the boat.

"Goddamn." Penelope giggled.

"Do you want to check out the cabin?" He asked, holding the door to the stairs. Pen agreed and they both walked down the short flight of stairs. She gasped and exclaimed in joy at the beautiful sight of the decorated cabin below the boat.

"You like it?" Vie asked, sitting at the swiveling barstool.

"Like? I love it!" She shrieked, running her fingertips over the wood grain material on the perimeter of the roofing.

Once they walked into the further room of the cabin, there was a "scuba room" where you can put on fancy gear and go into the water below the boat through this glass dome type of mechanism. They decided to go diving. They got suited up with the suits and oxygen tanks and went below. They swam around for about 3 hours and climbed back onto the boat.

"That. Was. Amazing." Penelope spoke in between breaths as she removed her helmet. "Those tanks are a little heavy though." She added, bending over backwards to crack her back.
