Pippin POV

I was walking past the Artemis cabin when I heard Holly and Annabeth talking. I hid nearby so I could eavesdrop.

"Are you sure? It isn't like him to leave without any kind of warning," Annabeth said.

"I know." Holly suddenly looked like something smacked her in the face then traumatized her. I guess she figured it out, and it wasn't good.

"Annabeth?" She sounded like she was about to cry.

Annabeth sighed. "Just tell me."

"I think he's gone missing."

I was beyond confused. Percy, missing? That doesn't sound right.

Annabeth looked worried out of her mind. "Seriously?" Holly nodded, her eyes glistening with tears. I felt really bad for them, so I snuck back around and walked over.

"What's wrong?" I asked innocently. Holly looked down, refusing to speak.

"We think Percy's gone missing," Annabeth quietly explained.

"What? Why would you think that?" They were totally buying this...I hope.

"Pippin, we both know you were eavesdropping." Holly didn't say anything.

I sighed. "You guys suck."

"You don't believe us, do you?" Annabeth asked me.

I decided to be a little humorous. "No. I mean, how would he go missing? Was he taking a walk, then like 'ooh look let's get kidnapped, oh ouch, this hurts, oh look, I'm being knocked out...'" Annabeth smiled a little, despite the serious situation. Holly didn't react, which worried me a lot.

Annabeth gave me a shut-up-or-I'll-kill-you look. "This is serious," she said, looking directly at me. "We need to tell Chiron. Pippin, try and comfort Holly." She left.

Holly immediately broke down. I hated seeing her like this. I did my best to comfort her, although I suck at it.

Now I felt awful. She cried herself to sleep. I gently picked her up and carried her back to her cabin.

"Did you do a good job?" Annabeth asked after I left.

"Not really, she cried herself to sleep." Annabeth sighed, looking extremely worried.

"I'll be in the cabin." As soon as she closed the door, I could hear her sobbing. Neither of them were taking this well, and if I were one of them, I definitely wouldn't either.

I remained alone for the rest of the day, then went back to the cabin around 11. Maybe this would be figured out by tomorrow.
