Holly POV
I woke up with a sticky note on my forehead. I read it and burst out laughing. I laughed even harder when I realized that there were more all over the room.
Pippin had put sticky notes all over our hotel room and wrote 'Pippin wuz here' on all of them. He woke up when I started laughing and grinned sleepily.
"I knew you'd like that," he murmured.
"You're cleaning all this up," I told him through fits of laughter.
He looked horrified. "All of it?!"
"All of it."
He groaned. "At least let the others wake up first."
I shrugged. "Okay."
"So, how did you get rid of the possessing spirit?" He asked. Oh yeah, he asked me right before I fell asleep. I think I told him I'd tell him later.
I smiled. "After I shoved you into the hotel room, I did run off, but I came back and eavesdropped a little. I heard you say that I bolted, which is exactly what I wanted you to think. I ran down to the pool."
"So that's when you got rid of it?" He asked.
"No," I admitted. "I jumped in, clothes and all, and asked my dad for help, but after five minutes I got scared and ran out."
"So how much time did you have left?" He asked.
"Exactly 22 minutes," I said. "At this point I faced one of my worst fears-again. I found these boxes leading up to a roof. I jumped around on roofs for about ten minutes-"
"Seriously?!" He asked. "That must have been terrifying."
"It was," I admitted. "But I wasn't doing this for me. I was doing it for you." He blushed but didn't say anything. "Anyways, I found this airport. A plane was taking off."
"You did NOT jump from there onto the plane," he said.
"Actually I didn't," I said. "I jumped from the roof, onto a tree, then onto the plane." I was not making any of this up, even though it sounds crazy.
He looked amazed. I continued. "I climbed into the plane just as it was taking off. As soon as I saw water below, I jumped. I splashed into the water and begged my dad for help, knowing I only had about five minutes left. At the last second, he shoved a ton of water into me, forcing the spirit out. After he ejected it all from me, he helped me back to the mainland."
"Then how were you so exhausted earlier?" He asked.
"Because I walked back to the hotel. It took all night."
He hugged me. "You're a genius for thinking of all of that."
"Well, my first plan failed, so I did the next best thing." He snorted. I rolled my eyes.
The others woke up. At least Lily had a sense of humor. She laughed. "Pippin, you're hysterical."
Ashton seemed confused. "Why is there a ton of sticky notes?" Lily handed him one. "'Pippin wuz here'? Of course Pippin's here!"
Daniel grinned. "Pippin can take pranking lessons from the Stolls. Then he can prank Holly all the time."
"Don't you dare," I told him. The main reason I did that was because I'm taking pranking lessons from the Stolls, and I didn't want him to learn all of my tricks.
Pippin smiled nervously. "I won't."
Hank was really mad. "The place is filthy! Who trashed it?!"
Poor Pippin turned as white as a sheet, but Lily saved his butt. "It was me. I framed him." She winked at us. Pippin looked incredibly grateful.
Hank groaned. "Clean it all up!"
"You're helping," I told Pippin, and convinced him to get on his hands and knees and help Lily clean up the room.
Half an hour later they were done. I was completely packed.
"Are we leaving?" Hank asked.
I did the most risky thing ever. I took out Mom's credit card and stuffed it into his hand. "I'm going to California." I told him. Hera had talked to me last night. She said Percy was somewhere in California. Very helpful. Where in California?! "Use that to buy plane tickets back."
He looked amazed. "You're trusting me with this?"
I nodded. "I'm taking two people with me. It's best to travel in groups of three."
"Who are you taking?" Pippin asked. I smacked him upside the head.
"You, dipstick!"
"Oh. Right. But who's the other one?"
"Lily," I said calmly. "If she'll come. I'm not giving you a choice."
Lily snorted. "Of course I'll go. But don't make it awkward for me." I grinned as Pippin blushed.
"Tell the others." I gave all of them a big hug. "Also, tell James I hijacked his jeep." I grabbed my bag and bolted. Pippin and Lily were close behind. I heard Ashton and Daniel laughing. Hank kept yelling at me that that was a horrible idea, but I kept going.
When we found the jeep, I told Lily to get in the driver's seat.
"What?!" Pippin cried.
"I suck, and I am NOT letting you drive. There's not many other options."
Lily grinned. She quickly learned how to drive. She jerked forward, almost causing me to get serious brain damage.
Pippin groaned. "Don't kill us."
"I make no promises," she replied and sped off.
