Junjie's eyes widened, no one had ever asked him for a wish before. Does Bolin think he's a wishing dragon just like those children's books?
"I'm not that kind of dragon," answered Junjie. "I don't grant wishes."
"No, not like that." He looked away so he's not making direct eye contact with Junjie. "Grant me a day with her. I want to have at least a day with Ling Ling without being chased, without running, without having to fight off everyone. My last wish before you send me away is an uninterrupted day with her."
Junjie frowned. Perhaps, Bolin forgot that Ling Ling was married to him.
"Y-you want a date with my wife?" He muttered appalled. The nerves of humans! "Are you out of your mind? I won't let you date my wife!"
"What do you mean?"
"If you think for a second I will leave you alone with her even for a minute…"
Bolin cut him off. "It's not what you're thinking. I won't touch her or kiss her or try anything funny. I'm passed all that. I just wanted to feel what it's like to have a day with her."
"I'm sorry, but I cannot allow it." Said Junjie sternly. "I'm afraid the moment I turn my back around and leave her alone with you, I'll lose her again. Your family has a bad history of crimes and corruption in the spirit world, I cannot trust you."
He shifted back to his human form and walked up to Bolin, helping him stand on his two feet.
"Ling Ling is the princess of this palace, I cannot lose her again. However, can promise you a better alternative." Junjie smiled.
Bolin glared at Junjie. How dare this man try to muse him with something else? What could be a better alternative to his last wish?
"I can bring you back as her child. I think it's about time me and her start having children."
Bolin's forehead knotted into a disagreeing frown. He would've considered it, except…
He scrunched his nose and glowered at Junjie so hard he could burn a hole in him. "You?! My father?!"
Junjie grinned and barred his white teeth preciously. "What? You don't want me to be your daddy? It'll be fun! I think I'll be a good father. I'll give you lots of spankin'!"
"No!"
"See you're already being naughty and defiant." Junjie stretched his smile further and there's something about him that suddenly turned aglow.
Magic swallowed and coated the prince and spread into something blinding and relaxing. Junjie reached for Bolin's eyes as to close them himself. "I'll see you in about nine months, Bolin. And I promise you won't remember any of this."
A whirlpool of light appeared before Bolin, like a vortex opening to suck him in. He felt the warmth of its light kissed his skin and catapulted him in front of two massive gates.
The Seven Gates of Hell.
He looked up at the towering gates and realized Junjie sent him to the Seven Gates of Hell to begin his journey to reincarnation.
