sunflowers

we are finally blooming into magnificent sunflowers.

she is my sunshine, radiant from miles away.

she's my soil, rich with her ethnicity.

she's my water, driving me wild.

someday our roots will inflorescence, spreading across every landmark that our feet touches.

she revived my dead heart with her thick, kind roots, supporting me in my times of need.

give me nutrients, I need you to grow.

our delicate petals will shred when one of us fails to flourish.
