Chapter Five

A red rose with a little note stuck to it fell out my locker as I opened it. I bent down and picked it up confused as to who could have done that.

'Hey pretty! The smile that's on your face right now is this one that lights up my world. Have a good day'.

I held the note in my hand for a few seconds and frowned instead of smiling, thinking who could be this stupid. It didn't seem romantic even in the least if that's what the person intended to make me feel.

So I sighed and put it in my locker and took out my books.

'Hey babe. Didn't like my surprise' Cole asked startling me as I hadn't noticed him being so close to me all that time.

'Hey! No I umm it was nice' I stammered.

His face was just a few inches away from mine and had what I assumed to be a smirk.

'What's up with you Cole' I blurted annoyed at his behaviour again.

'What. Nothing. Why would you ask that' he said looking slightly offended.

'I don't know. You're acting a little different lately' I replied backing away in order to increase the distance between us.

'As in good different' he asked taking a step towards me grinning.

'Hey Serah,Cole' Mike interrupted smiling totally oblivious to what was happening and I was glad since I was starting to feel uncomfortable.

'Hey Mike' Cole and I said together.

We were about to leave for class when I stopped him.

'What' he asked looking at me.

'Cole's been acting weird lately. He's suddenly all sweet and flirty and that really sucks' I told him frowning.

He burst out laughing and I shot him a murderous glare. He stopped quickly and put his hands on my shoulder lifting my chin to face him and said,

'Hey! Why are you thinking so much? He just has a crush on you or something and that's normal right ? So chill'

That calmed me down a little. Yeah maybe he was right ! It was just a crush and I could deal with that so I grabbed his hand and pulled him with me to class.

English was so boring and I was falling asleep again and again but then I suddenly felt someone poke me on my left side.

I lifted my head annoyed to see Mike smirking at me.

'What' I whispered

'I just wanted to confirm if the movie plan at your place is on tonight or not' he asked me softly so that we could not be heard by the teacher.

'Umm yeah' I replied smiling

'Great' he smiled back and then turned his attention to the board

Movie nights with Mike were always fun and it was our usual 'Friday Night' routine but this was the first after we broke up.

We hadn't spent time together like that since we split and this realization made me a little sad even though I was totally over him, I still missed all the moments we spent when we were a couple.

Finally the bell rang for lunch time and I was seated in between Jess and Jason. Jess kept telling me about how hot Mike looked blah blah blah....

I was really surprised as to how I didn't feel even the tiniest bit of jealousy listening to her fantasizing about Mike.
