Chapter one
I walked down the road happily ,I had just found some strawberries my favorite, when I heard two gunshots and a guy scream. Normally I would just blow it off but something told me I needed to help him out. I pulled out my shotgun and ran towards the sound.
'Oh my god...' I thought.
This guy was surrounded my runners and clickers with only a pistol. I shot the two runners and that made noise to distract the clickers. I mouthed out 'come over here slowly' and he did.
"Throw that bottle over behind that bin" I whispered. He nodded and with that threw the bottle. One of the clickers went over to the sound. I came up behind it and shot it in the head with my shotgun. The other clicker heard it and came towards me. I picked up a bottle and threw it over towards the door. The clicker ran that way when I shot it and it fell down.
"Thanks um...?" the boy said.
"Haley" ,I said, "and you?"
"Erin" he smiled.
I nodded. He looked about my age and he was pretty tall. He had blueish gray eyes and dirty blonde hair a little more on the brown side tho. He was wearing a black jacket with a navy blue shirt underneath, black converts, and blue jeans. He was cute too.
"So what happened?" I asked. He shook his head and opened his mouth as if to say something but he stopped.
I knew why he stopped he had heard some more clickers. "lets talk about this at my place okay?" I whispered. He nodded. We walked out slowly and started towards my um.. house I guess you could say. When we got there I made sure no runners or clickers were around and unlocked it. My house was kinda small. It only had one bathroom, two bedrooms one of them being destroyed, a living room, and a kitchen . It was like a apartment but in a single house form.
Once we got in I locked everything back up tight, I turned on a lamp. It was getting dark fast. I guess Erin is staying with me tonight. I Bolted up all the windows ,which I had made sound proof, locked the doors and bolted them too. After everything was all locked up I showed Erin to the living room and told him I'd be right back. I was going to change into my pjs, a tank top and guy pj pants. What?! They are very comfortable!
I grabbed some pjs for him which was a t-shirt and pj pants. I walked into the room and handed them to him.
"I guess your staying here so here you go" I said as I tossed him the clothes.
"Thanks Haley." he smiled. I smiled back.
"So you gonna tell me what happened?" I said sitting down next to Erin. "Oh yeah well anyway so I was out gathering supplies when a herd came out of nowhere and started attacking me. So I pulled out my pistol and started to shoot I got a lot of them on the first few shots but there where so many. I had gotten most of them and I started running knowing I only had a few shots left. I shot two more times killing one clicker and that's when you showed up" he finished.
"Wow.. Good thing I was there I save your ass" I laughed.
He smiled.
"So where are you staying?" I asked.
"I was staying at this motel but I'm not going back there where I got acted was right outside the place so there are probly a lot there now" he said with a sigh.
"You could stay here." I blurted out. What the hell are you doing Haley?! You just met him.Well it would be nice to have some company. You do get kinda lonely here by myself.
"Really?" he asks.
"Yeah I mean it just me here and it gets kinda lonely" I say with a small smile.
