Chapter 6

It had been a long three days since my encounter with my dad. I hadn't done much in those three days. Tommy didn't want me going anywhere without him or Jane with me, just incase. I moved over to the windowsill in my bedroom. I placed both my arms on it and rested my head on top of them, I stared out at the river. Then I saw a piece of white paper on the riverbank. I turned my head slightly to try and get a better look at it. In the end I got up and went outside. I walked down to the riverbank and picked up the piece of paper. It was slightly damp but still readable. My heart sank reading it. I ran back to the house, upstairs to my room.  I read it again. And again.

Holly, I hope you can forgive me for what happened. You were never ment to find out. Please come back home. Kayla would want us to be together.  Love Dad x

He had a nerve. He must be stupid to think that I would go back with him. I tore the piece of paper up in a million little pieces. I leaned across so my arm was out the window. I let the paper fly out of my hand and into the breeze. They swirled around and changed directions. Some went to the right and the others to the left. I watched, staring out at the world below me. I heard a knock at the door and wandered down the stairs to answer it. Jane often forgot stuff, so I presumed it was her.

As I walked down the stairs the knocking got more frantic. God, Jane must of been in a hurry. I fumbled with the key and unlocked the door. I opened it to find Dad standing there.

I slammed the door shut but Dad put his foot in the way and shoved the door back open

'Look Holly,' He started as he forced his way into the house.'Why won't you speak to me?' I turned my head away from him. I didn't want to see him. He took hold of my face forcing me to look him in the eye. 'Please Holly' He said, his eyes pleading, staring deep into mine.

'I know what you did to Kayla' I said, no expression in my voice. I tried to stop my tears. Dad let go of my face and walked into the living room. He flopped down onto the sofa and put his head in his hands. I followed him and stood in the doorway.

'You were never ment to know' He began. Staring up at me. Tears in his eyes. I went and sat down beside him.

'Why Dad, why did you rape her. Why?' I pleaded. I wanted to know every detail.

'Rape her' He said slightly confused. Then he got it. He turned to me. And took my hands in his.

'I promise you Holly, I never ment to hurt Kayla on purpose. One thing led to another, and it just happened' He said. I pulled my hands out of his grip and stood up. I turned to him.

'But it wasnt just the once was it?' I said, the anger inside me boiling. Dad was taken back by my anger. In fact I was too.

'No.' He said as he stared down at the floor.

'Who are you?' I said, my eyes watering. 'Cos you sure as fucking hell ain't the Man I used to call my Dad!' He looked up at me in shock.

'Holly,' He gasped. The tears were now streaming down my face. He looked lost for words, something that my Dad rarely ever is. I tired to stop my tears flowing and compose myself. I had never shouted at Dad like that before, ever.

'I loved her Holly' He whispered. Still not looking me in the eye. I turned my head from him.

'Get out,' I said, crying.

'Holly, Pleae don't do this'

'Go Now!' I yelled, cutting him off. I hated him. With every bone in my body.

'Im your Dad, Holly.' He said, standing up and placing his hand on my shoulder. I pushed it off and turned to him.

'Not any more' I said. 'Not after what you have done' Dad stared at me speechless. He stood for a second before nodding his head in a acknowledgement. I turned my head down to the floor as he walked past me.

'Please come back with me' He said opening the front door.

'No' I said.

'I dont want to leave without you, I need you back home Holly. And I need you back now.'

'How do I know you won't hurt me like you hurt Kayla?' I asked, my voice raised. Dad stared at me, shocked.

'I would never hurt you.' He said, he was getter more and more angry.       'Now you are coming back with me.' He grabbed hold of my wrist and started pulling me out the door. I struggled and tried to pull out of his grasp. But he was too strong.

'Dad stop!' I yelled at him. 'Please don't do this' I begged. It was too late now, he was more angry then I had ever seen him before. I didn't stop struggling, i fought and fought against him. After what he had done to Kayla, I just wanted him to burn in hell.

We neared his car and I had given up all hope of breaking away from him. The sky darkened, full of Black clouds. The rain began to fall, causing Dad to stumble back slightly in shock. He loosened his grip, it was my chance. I broke free and ran. I didn't know where I was going but I didn't stop running.

I ran to Tommy's house, I could hear my Dad coming up behind me, getting closer and closer. I knocked on the door. But as soon as I had Dad grabbed my arm again. He pulled me into him

'Don't You Ever Try Any of That Again!' He snarled in my ear. I nodded my head and he pulled me away from the house to the car. I looked back at the door, nobody had answered it yet. Dad turned my head back to facing forward. I dared not look again. He was scaring me so much, this was a side of Dad I had never known. And from what I knew, a side Kayla Knew too well....

The car door was opened and Dad threw me in, the rain still falling. He strapped me in and shut the door. I tried to open it but then I remembered Dad had always had a childlock on the car. I slumped down as Dad got into the driver's seat. He turned the key without saying a single word. I then heard a call from across the road. It was Tommy.

He began running over to the car. He banged his fist on the windows and I just stared up at him. Dad started up the car and we drove away, leaving Tommy behind in the distance.

'Just you and me Holly, that's all we need' Dad said. He looked at me with the mirror. I pulled my legs up and held them close to my chest. I layed my head on my knees and cried. Tommy would come and find me. He just had too....
