you could feel time ticking slowly, the peppermint taste of his lips still against yours, and you wanted every bit of it. you wanted to feel him and he wanted to feel you with just as much passion. his lips soft against yours, and an occasional tiny moan would be released every now and then. the embarrassment of your soft whimpers clouded your mind, but slowy fading away by the pull you receive from him, pulling your body closer as if it were still possible.
your foreheads leaned on each other, as your lips slowly disconnected. the cold air of the room coming back to blow against your skin but your breath still heavy and warm. he smiled, looking into your eyes. his eyes spoke so much unsaid words as they slowly dilated along with your irises as well. no words were spoken but you understood it all perfectly.
your hands slowly fall from his face, as they land on his shoulders. a smile grew wide across your face as he pulled you in and rested his chin on your shoulder, with your cheek resting against his chest. arms begin to wrap around you as you felt his heartbeat once again.
--
it had been weeks since his second confession, and as time passed, you only grew closer. you had learned about him as much as he did about you, and you couldn't help but to realise so many other things.
baekhyun hadn't only brought you the help you needed all your life, but he also brought you comfort and happiness. through the many weeks of knowing him, your heart only craved for him before you even knew it.
it all made sense to you.
the way you could literally feel your heartbeat pumping in your chest at the mere sight of his presence, the way you'd catch glimpse of his stares, the way the touch of his fingers sent shivers down your skin, the way your cheeks would turn warm and red.
all because of him.
you've never smiled so genuinely for so long, especially after believing you wouldn't at all curve your lips after everything you've went through. you've never gotten out of bed easily, especially when the sun is out and exposed, the natural light beaming through the thin curtains. you've never had the feeling of actually being glad that you were alive, not when everything and everyone you ever loved had been taken away from you in the worst ways possible.
but baekhyun himself changed that.
you'd smile the widest of smiles, even at the littlest of jokes he'd randomly share or at the littlest of actions he'd naturally do towards you. you'd push yourself out of bed on the first movement of your eyelids, pulling the curtains apart to appreciate the natural beauty of light that is the sun, smiling to yourself occasionally as you watch your skin glow from the dip of sunlight. thanking the heavens for waking you up everytime without having to feel like dying or giving up.
he had given you so many reasons to live, to prove and make your parents proud as they watch over you, to prove to your past lovers that you were worth more than they'd ever thought you were, to prove to your brother that you could work just as hard to help each other and the people around you, and most importantly, to prove to yourself—that you were worth existing ever since you step foot into this cruel and unfair world.
you remembered it all, every single word that came out of his very lips. the way his eyes would turn into teardrops, and the way the corners of his mouth would curve their way up to the sky. you remembered it all vivdly, keeping the memory safe in your mind. his meaningful words holding a spot at the deepest part of your heart.
"baekhyun, i don't think i want to do this anymore," you hugged your legs, as tears crashed down your face and into your palms.
the remains of last night's nightmare corrupted you and your thoughts when your eyelids opened. as soon as you woke up, you called baekhyun and he came as fast as he could.
