Voight POV:
I walk in after a long day to the sound of tears. I notice Erin on the couch watching TV, obviously oblivious to the sound of someone crying.
"Erin! Who's crying?"
"Oh, um, Sophie came home from school in tears. She locked herself in her room and I haven't seen her since."
Uh oh. I rush to my daughter's room and lightly knock on the door.
"Sophie? Can I come in?"
"Ok." I hear the 16 year old say in between tears.
I slowly open the door and I definitely wasn't prepared for the sight in front of me.
Sophie's in her bed, cocooned in her blankets, with tissues all around her. I slowly walk over and sit on the edge of her bed. I'm completely unprepared for what might be wrong. Last time I walked in on something like this was when Sophie's friend stopped talking to her after 7 years of being best friends.
"Sophie, what's wrong? What happened?"
"It's... It's just that um, Eric broke up with me!" She says before bursting into even more tears.
Uh oh. I was not prepared for that one. I knew that I would eventually have to deal with this, but I always thought that Camille would be here to help me.
"Hey, it's alright. It's going to be alright. You will find someone I know you will."
I'm going to kill this Eric kid. No one breaks my kid's heart.
"But... But I.. I thought Eric was... The one, you know?"
How do I respond? I was not prepared for this.
"Well, um, hey you will find someone else. I promise. Everyone does."
"No I won't! He promised me that we would be together forever!"
That's it. No one breaks a promise to my daughter and gets away with it.
"Honey, I'll make it better. I promise, just give me a few hours..."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The silos. I only bring the worst of criminals here. Or those who disrespect me, or anyone I care about. And Eric fits all of those categories. I managed to convince his mother to let me speak to him for a while. Little did she know that I was bringing him here.
"W... What is going on?" He asks as I get out of the car.
"Sophie."
"What about that idiot?"
"Don't you dare call my daughter an idiot."
"Why? It's true."
That's it. No one insults my daughter and gets away with it. I quickly take out my phone and text Al to look this Eric kid up and see if he has any priors.
About 2 minutes later he texts me back that he was caught stealing but got away from the officers.
"You know Eric, we really should finish this conversation somewhere else. Follow me."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Yo, man, why are we at the police station?"
"Because I'm a cop, and it seems we have a slight problem."
"Wait?! Sophie's dad is a cop?!"
"Well, more like a sergeant, and leader of the intelligence unit, but close enough. Why? Are you hiding something?"
"I... I have to go! They can't catch me!" He screams as he struggles to get away from me.
"Actually, we need to talk to you." Platt says coming up next to me.
"Hank, thanks so much for bringing this guy in, I've heard he's been giving your family trouble." She says giving me a wink.
Thank goodness for Trudy.
"Thanks so much Trudy." Under my breath I add "I owe you one."
She smiles as she takes Eric back. I don't care what happens to him, I just want him to know one thing. No one messes with Hank Voight and gets away with it.
