Jay POV:

I stare up at the ceiling fan as I lean back in my desk chair. The sound of the fan sounds similar to my time in the army. The constant banging. And suddenly I'm back.

I wake up to my sergeant yelling my name. I jump out of bed and run out of my tent. I run into the sound of constant banging and ringing. I grab my gun and load onto the helicopter.

"Hey, Jay! Earth to Jay! You alright in there buddy?"

I quickly open my eyes and notice Ruzek standing there. I roll my eyes and sit back up in my chair.

"I'm fine, I'm just tired. Didn't get much sleep last night." I lie.

He shrugs his shoulders and walks away. And then I notice it. He's wearing army green pants. Boy do I hate that color.

"Hey Jay, why were you late? Sleeping as usual?" My buddy, Dave, asks as I pull my army green jacket on over my shirt.

"Yeah, why'd you ask? You know me."

"Fair point!" He shouts as the helicopter roars to life.

As we're in the air I suddenly hear the sound of machine guns going off and groups of army green falling to the ground.

"Jay! Wake up! We have a case!" Voight shouts.

I quickly open my eyes as he places a case file onto my desk. I mutter a quick apology before opening it up.

As I'm skimming over the case I hear someone approaching my desk. I silently look up and notice Al standing there looking slightly concerned. I slowly shake my head as if to tell him later. He nods and heads back to his desk without looking back.

"What's going on down there?!" Dave shouts from beside me.

"No idea, should we check it out?" I ask.

"Let's do it, count of three." He says.

I glance at him, and he gives me a reassuring nod.

"One."

"Two."

"Three." I shout as we jump out of the helicopter into the unknown.

"Jay! What is with you today?"

"Sorry man, what did you say?" I ask looking up at Kevin.

"I asked if you wanted me to pick you up a burger from Portillio's?"

"Oh yeah sure thanks."

"No problem. And in the mean time try and stay awake."

I roll my eyes and try and focus on the case once again. I glance up and notice Al looking at me worridly. I slowly nod my head and motion towards the break room.

"Jay what's going on?" Al asks as he closes the door.

"It's the PTSD. It's really bad today. Everything is triggering it. The ceiling fan, Ruzek's pants..."

"Okay, just calm down. They taught you how to handle with these flare up rights?"

"No! They never even taught me how to deal with the PTSD!"

"Alright, calm down. How about you just hang out in here for a while with the lights out okay? When I have flare ups I usually hang out in a low sensory room so it doesn't aggravate my mind. I'll tell everyone you weren't feeling great so you went to take a short nap. Alright?"

"Okay. Thanks Al. It means a lot."

"No problem, I'm glad I could help." He says as he turns of the lights and closes the door behind him.

When I land on the ground I look frantically around for Dave. I can't find him anywhere.

"Dave?!" I hiss into the darkness as if not to disturb the gunman.

"Jay?!" I hear in the distance.

I frantically crawl towards the whisper. I stretch my hand out in front of me so I don't miss him. And then my hand lands on something wet. I quickly grab my flashlight and shine it where my hand is. It's a forgotten body part with blood still spilling from the veins.

I quickly pull my hand away in disgust and continue looking for Dave. And then I find him. And I realize something. Remember that body part I touched? It's his.

"Jay? You doing alright?" I hear Al whisper.

"Yeah. It's helping a little I guess. Thanks Al." I whisper back.

"No problem, just warning you I may need to tell Hank the truth he's pretty annoyed."

"Ugh. Fine. But no one else."

"Hey, Dave? You alright?" I ask as I try and stop the blood flow to where his limb should be.

"Yeah I'm good. How about you?"

"Oh I'm doing great. I mean a little tired. How about I take a little nap right here, would you mind that?"

"Yeah sure. Let's just stop this maniac from shooting everyone alright?"

"Ugh fine. You can truly be very difficult sometimes." I joke as I finally manage to cut off blood supply to his leg.

"I try. Hey Jay what are you doing to my leg?" He asks finally.

"You just got a little scratch so I'm just wrapping a little bandage over it, alright?"

I've learned that with Dave it's sometimes better to ease the band-aid off, not rip it off. The doctor can tell him in the hospital. For now I should at least ease him into the idea that he injured his leg.

I stay by Dave's side joking with him until night fall. Until finally I see a surgeon running towards us with a streture. Dave is going to make it.

"Jay? You doing alright?" I hear Hank ask from the doorway.

"Yeah. I'm okay. How long have I been asleep?"

"Only about ten minutes. Al just told me. Take all the time you need."

Wow. I never knew all I needed was a little PTSD to let me sleep on the job.

AN: I hope you guys enjoyed that!! Okay so about the lack of updating, I actually have a reason. If you didn't see my recent comment on my profile conversation section than I recommend you read this next part. If you did feel free to skip over.

I was recently hospitalized. I'm out now, and okay. I had a really severe migraine and I couldn't use any technology. I'm technically still not supposed to use a lot of technology but I'm feeling a lot better and I'm really bored. Anyway I may go into more detail later but for now that's all I really know.

Also, I have officially written all of my pending requests that I can find. If I didn't write yours please remind me I feel awful when I forget to write someone's request. And anymore requests are greatly appreciated.

Another note: I have not yet watched the season finale. So I'm not saying no spoilers I just wanted to let you know. When I do Expect a one shot from each of those cliffhangers...

Have a great day/night and thanks for dealing with my rants!!! 😘
