The opening challenge

The Eagles, including me, chanted "Parker! Parker! Parker! Parker!"
"Come on, guys!"
"Go, Parker! You got this!" I shout, though I do feel guilt creep up on me when I see Alex' eyes flit to mine for a second, I'm just trying to fit in and I hope that he understands that.
"Parker, you weakling! How you gonna let this kid beat you like that?" Another eagle questions as Alex begins to get the upper hand.
"Come on, Alex! You can do it!" Sophie says lightly,
"Aw, how sweet!, Look, Daniel. Alex needs his big sister to tell him a bedtime story." Brooke said, throwing Alex off letting Parker slam his hand down and win.
"I still don't know why your dad accepted him." Daniel replied,
"He's too nice."
"That's his problem." People started to move before I said "hey Parker"
"Yeah" he replied,
"Lets see if you can beat me"
He looked at me and the rest of the eagles and laughed,
I pulled out a chair, "no I'm serious come on" Parker sat down and gripped my hand, more eagles gathered round. More chanting begun, though this time it was split some shouting 'Parker' while others screamed 'Bea',
"Oh come on Parker you can do better than this" I tease as I start to win.
Cheers erupt as I slam parkers hand onto the table. "Woah that's some strength you got there" Daniel says as I'm congratulated.

"Yeah I hope you make good use of it in tennis" Brooke adds with a smile.
"Oh I don't play tennis, I play basketball", people look at me shocked before Daniel addresses the eagles. "All right now people start heading to bed we need to be ready to beat the Ravens again this year".

Waking up I open my Louis to find a new edition on Sophie's blog, "oh brother, you naive little idiot" I mutter under my breath. I change into my uniform, which today consists of a dark purple skirt and a black top with white edges and an absolutely huge Eagle logo in the front, in one way or another.

"I can't believe we lost Tyler for him.
I mean, this guy is an embarrassment to the Eagles." Parker stated dejectedly.
Daniel scoffs before replying with a knowing look.
"Hey, don't get too attached to him."
"What do you mean?" Parker questions, confused.
"I mean, he has a temper. It'll happen again, and next time, Louis won't forgive him. Then we'll throw him a proper going-away party." Daniel states his plan.
"Yeah, okay."
"Feel me? Yeah."
"So what's the plan?" Parker asks,
"Just trust your captain, I got you." Daniel replies reassuringly.
"All right."
"Cause he gotta go."
"Seriously."
"What about Bea though, she's cool, an Eagle kinda cool" Parker says while casting a glance towards Bea who walked past.
"Huh, oh Bea, nah man we keeping her, she's definitely an Eagle".

"Guys, the opening challenge starts now.
We leave in three. Come on, Eagles, what's up? Hey, who's gonna crush the Ravens again?" Daniel chants,
"We are! Eagles! Eagles! Eagles! Eagles! Eagles! Eagles!" Us eagles shout back with evident ambition. We start making our way to Louis to hear about the opening challenge.
"Hayley" I hear Alex shout, I just ignore them and keep walking past, I don't have time to argue with them besides Alex missed her texts I ignored them, I'm on good terms with the eagles right now and don't want to jeopardise that.

"Welcome to the opening challenge." Louis shouts as we all cheer.
"As you all know, this is not a regular school. And our goal here is not to prepare you for the regular state standard exams.
Other than a two-week vacation at the end of the year for you to prepare for that unimportant test we won't be dealing with that at all. My only job here is to feed your curiosity. Now, the Ravens and Eagles have been rivals for decades, and this year is no different. So today I'm sending you a riddle.
You have to solve that riddle to find the key to unlock this case, to be the first team to ring the gong and win." Louis explains.
