I smile at this Sam character. "One, I was walking home from a graduation and got cold. Two, I actually don't drink coffee. I usually order tea from here. And three..." I pause. "I honestly don't know. Just looking around, I guess."

"Well, c'mon. Let's go get something to drink." He grabs my wrist and pulls me up to order.

"My name's Cheyenne, by the way."

"Hmm, Cheyenne. Cheyenne, Cheyenne, Cheyenne. I like it. Cute." I crinkle my nose. 'Cute'. "I'll just take a latte, and this lovely lady will have..." He glances at me, and I order a green tea. Sam pays because I, obviously, have no money, and we go back to our seats. "So, how old are you?" he asks, setting his head in his hands on the table. I bite at the skin around my thumb nail.

"I'm fifteen. I'll be sixteen in August. What about you?"

"I'm seventeen. Are you nervous or something? Why are you doing that?" He points at my hand, where I'm still biting at my thumb.

"Oh. No, I'm not nervous. Just a habit, I guess. Like chewing on the end of a pencil, which I also do. I'm weird."

"Just a little." He chuckles, and I giggle. What is wrong with me?

I turn my head to see a waiter moving towards us with a tray.

"Here's your coffee and tea. Have a nice night." He offers a tired smile, and I thank him.

"Thanks for the tea, Sammy." He shakes his head while taking a sip from his mug.

"Sammy," he mocks. I stick my tongue out at him. My phone buzzes on the table, and I see 'my love, my love' because that's a stupid thing I put in my phone when Aaron and I first started dating. I've just never changed it. It's a phone call, and I don't really wanna answer it, but then again, I do. I end up taking the call and going outside.

"Holy fuck Cheyenne, where are you?" I hear as soon as I answer.

"Why does it matter? I thought you were ignoring me?" I could be polite and not get angry and yell, but ya know, that's just not me.

"You aren't home," he states.

"Well of course I'm not home. It's fucking cold outside. Do you really think I would walk all the way home when it's this fucking cold outside? I mean I don't even know why it's this cold outside because it's summer. Summer's supposed to be hot, not cold. Like what the fuck is up with that?" I don't know why I'm babbling on and on, but I could do this for a solid hour.

"Stop cussing, babe and just tell me where you are. I'm coming to get you." I can tell he's in a car by the way the wind is blowing through the phone.

"Don't call me babe, you asshole. You just ignored me for a good hour or two. Don't act like everything is fine and dandy and expect me to just tell you where I am so you can pick me up. I'm hanging out with a friend. Bye." I hit the end button and huff. I hear a ding and know the door of the coffee shop opened.

"Do you wanna go home?" Sam asks, quietly.

"Do you have a car?" I ask.

"Um, yeah. So, do you want me to drive you home or?" He scratches the back of his head.

"Can we go for a drive? I know we don't know each other too well, but I don't wanna go home just yet. Plus, I don't want to sit in that lonely coffee shop all night long." Sam grins, and I take that as a yes.

"I'll go get our drinks to go. My truck's right over there." He points to a black truck and tosses me his keys. "Don't go stealing it though. I paid a lot of money for that."

We end up driving for two hours. We drive around Sam's neighborhood, around town, and finally, around my side of town, to my house. Sam unlocks the doors, and I get out. Before I close the front door of my house, I hear Sam shout, "I put my number in your phone. I hope you don't mind."

My mother's already asleep, so I tiptoe up the stairs and past her room to mine. I get into some pajamas and lie down under my comforter. I turn on my TV and plug in my phone. I flip through channel after channel before settling on Monsters Inc. Great movie.

I walk downstairs rubbing my eyes as they adjust to the light.

"Cheyenne!" my mom shouts when I maneuver into the kitchen. She's making breakfast. She always makes breakfast on Sunday, but only on Sunday. "I have the day off. Do you wanna do something?"

"That would be awesome." I yawn and stretch my arms.

"What time did you get in last night? I know you said you were staying out late because of graduation." She flips the bacon and the one pancake. I hate pancakes.

"Um, I actually don't know. Aaron and I are fighting so I left graduation and went to that coffee shop, you know, the one in town?" She nods, and I continue. "Well, I went there just to keep warm then I was gonna call you or someone to come pick me up." I watch as she puts the bacon and pancake on a plate and starts with the eggs. "I want scrambled. Anyway, this guy came in, and we started talking. His name is Sam, he's seventeen, and he's pretty cute."

"Hmm. So, why are you and Aaron fighting?"

"On Saturday, after we went to the mall, Christina gave me a ride home. Later that night, I was walking to go to Christina's house when I ran into Nash."

"Nash? What was he doing over here?" My mom looks confused. The food's finished so I make my plate, and we go sit in the living room.

"That's what I asked him!" I exclaimed and take a bite of my eggs and ketchup. "He said that he wanted to get away from Chloe because they're fighting."

"Why are they fighting?"

"Because she thought Nash was cheating on her. So anyway, while Nash and I were talking, Christina and Chloe came into view, so I told Nash to go to the house. Then Chloe and Christina came over, and supposedly, they saw Nash and I hugging and now think we're together. Aaron found out and is suspicious so he ignored me at graduation; which I thought was pretty stupid." My mom has finished her plate while I still have most of my food on my plate. I turn on the TV and quickly eat my eggs and bacon. Mom takes our plates to the kitchen.

"What do you want to do today?" she chirps.

"I don't know." I look out the large window to my right, and it's raining. "We could go to the movies since it's raining." I shrug.

"That sounds fun. Do you know any good movies playing?" I shake my head.

"Let me go look." I go to my room and get on my laptop. I search for the movies that are in theaters right now. I scroll through until I see one that's interesting. It's a horror movie called 'Mr. Jones'. I cringe at the summary. I call my mom up, and she agrees with my lovely choice. We decide to just hang around the house until about six. We get ready and get into the car. It's an hour drive to the movie theater so we jam out to some music the whole way.
