"Cheyenne? Who's this?"
"Aunt Pinky!" I let go of Sam. "I'm so glad it's you. My friend, Sammy," I point to him. "Needs a place to stay, and I was wondering if he could stay with us."
"Oh, that's fine, honey."
"Awesome." I smile at her. "I also need another favor."
"Anything for you, sugar."
"I need you to pretend he's my cousin." A confused look creeps onto her face.
"But, why?"
"Aaron gets jealous easily, so if he finds out Sam came here to see me, he'll get angry," I explain. She slowly nods her head, letting everything process.
"Okay," she states, hesitantly. "I think I understand. Sam, your cousin so Aaron doesn't get angry."
"Right, we're gonna go back to the house, is that okay?" Pinky nods.
"Uncle Moe should be there unless he headed off to work or something. If he isn't there, there's a key ontop of the doorframe." I hug her and lead Sam back outside.
"So, why are we going to the house?" Sammy asks from behind me.
"Because I don't wanna be here so I used you as an excuse to get the hell out of here." I cross the street in front of the house, but Aaron stops me by shouting my name.
"Babe, where are you going?" He was sweaty and had taken his shirt off while playing football.
"Oh, uh, me and Sam were gonna go back to the house and watch some movies." I motion to Sam who's standing beside his truck.
"Who's he?" Aaron asks, biting his lip.
"One of my cousins I haven't seen in awhile."
"Well, I'll go with you guys."
"No, it's fine. You're having a good time, and they obviously want you to stay." I nod my head in the direction where the guys had stopped the game of touch football and were waiting for Aaron to come back. He glances behind him, and I can see him fidget. "Go, seriously." He turns back around, and I pull him in for a kiss. "I love you."
"I love you," he whispers then jogs back to the yard. I bit my nails as I go over to Sam's truck.
"Would you stop that?" Sam asks as he starts the truck and pulls off.
"Sorry, damn." I have to sit on my hands the whole way to Aunt Pinky's house. We got lost a few times because I'm horrible at giving directions. We eventually had to call Pinky and ask, but we made it. "Hey," I start as we sit in the stopped truck in the driveway. "Can we like, go somewhere?" Sam looks confused, but nods. He starts the engine again and stares at me.
"Where to?"
"The lake?" He shrugs. "Let me go get my bathing suit." I open the truck door and step out. "Do you have swimming trunks?"
"Yeah, I have a pair in my bag." He tosses his thumb in the direction of the backseat. I give him a thumbs up.
"Well, just give me a few minutes." I run over to the front door and check if it's unlocked. "Why did I even check? Uncle Moe's not even home," I whisper to myself. I get the spare key and unlock the door. I grab my bathing suit then head back outside. I get into the truck and throw my bikini on the dash. "Why are you staring at me? Let's go." I stare back at Sam as I see him begin to stare at me.
"First of all, you don't have your seat belt on, and second, that bathing suit could fly out the window."
"Ah, fuck, Sam." I yank the bathing suit from the dash and angrily throw it in the backseat before buckling my seat belt. I cross my arms and glare out the window.
"Thank you," he mumbles. "Don't be mad." He puts his hand on my knee, but I shake it off. He puts his hand back on my knee and grips it, obviously not wanting to let it go. "Now, we can leave." He removes his hand to pull out of the driveway, but puts it back on when we're on the road; only taking it off to shift gears.
When we arrive at the lake, I take my bathing suit and rush to find a bathroom to change. I try to get away from Sam before he notices where I've gone, but he grabs my arm. He turns me around and traps me between his body and the truck. I avoid his eyes as looks straight at my face.
"Sam, you're hurting me." He gives one last squeeze to my arm before dropping his hand.
"Sorry," he murmured. "If something's wrong, you need to tell me."
"Nothing's wrong, just leave it." I look down at his sneakers and bump my foot against it. "Can I have a hug?" He wraps me in a tight embrace, and his hands press into my spine. When we let go, he kisses my forehead. "Can we just go now? Like, go swim. I wanna swim." I still won't look him in the eye, I don't know why.
We find a bathroom to change in, and I go first. "Sam," I call to check if he's still outside the door.
"Yeah?" I hear his voice through the metal door.
"Can you tie my top?" I ask, shyly. Sam doesn't answer so I slowly open the door, making sure my top doesn't show anything.
"C'mere." Sam pulls me infront of him and ties the bottom strings together. "Oops," he says, and I'm confused at first, but as I feel my top begin to fall, I know what he's done.
"Sam, you asshole!" I scream at him as I pull the top back up to cover myself. He's doubled over, clutching his stomach in laughter. "Ha, you're hilarious. Now, tie this back." I move my braid away from my back so it won't get in the way. I don't feel Sammy behind me so I turn around. I knew he was laughing, but not this hard. He's on the ground, rolling around in the grass. I just decide to tie it myself, and finally after the third try, I succeed. Sammy finally got up from the ground and was now going into the bathroom after I came out. "Why were you laughing so hard?" I poke his naked chest, and he laughs again. He turns me towards the lake and points towards a group guys.
"Do you see the tall blonde one?" he asks, and I nod. "He saw your boobs then got a hard on; that's why I was laughing so hard." I blush and cover up my chest with my clothes. "Here, give me those." He takes my protection away from me and stuffs them in his bag. "C'mon." He takes my hand and guides me towards the lake. I stumble behind him then bump into him as he abruptly stops. He throws his bag down in the sand and spins around. "He's still looking at you." Sammy's jaw kept clenching and unclenching while his breathing became quick. I glance over at the group of guys, and sure enough, him and one of his friends were staring at me.
"Go tell them to fuck off," I mumble to Sam. He smirks.
"Yay, favorite part of the day." He casually walks over to the guys, and while his walk looks cool and collected, he blows up in their face. All I heard was 'go fuck yourself' then he was suddenly back in front of me.
"Good job. Now, let's go swim."
