38 - Walking with Derek

Chapter 38

Your POV

England is awesome, its just really cold here, and in Cali its hot right now. Staying here with my best friends is the greatest thing in the world. We were at a restaurant just Katie and I, and I looked at the clock it was 6:30 pm. Logan's wedding was at 12, by now he's a married man. Tears filled my eyes.

"Jackie what's wrong? You're crying, is it Logan?" Katie asked me, I nodded.

"He's already married, and I love him, Kate! How can I forget about him. " I asked.

"I really don't know, but you need to wipe your tears, now! Derek and Toby are on their way." she said, I nodded wiping my tears.

Who's Derek? He's this british guy I met, Toby introduced him to me on my first day here. We've gotten pretty close, he knows about my past, about Logan, Chris, Mia, mostly everything. He has blonde spiked hair, blue eyes really chiseled face features, and looks incredible without a shirt!

I saw Toby and Derek coming to our table, Toby kissed Katie, and Derek kissed my cheek and I did the same. They sat down across from us, we ate and finished up. Derek insisted to pay for me, so I let him. Katie and Toby left for the apartment and left us alone, we decided to take a walk around the park.

"You didn't talk much during dinner. Is it that Logan guy." he asked me in his super cool accent. I gave him a weak smile, and sighed.

"You know me too well sir." I said in a fake British accent. He smiled.

"Yeah, he's wedding was at 12, pacific time and it's 7:30 right now so...."

"He's married and your sad because you thought that one day you were going to marry him." he finished my sentence.

"Yea, I guess you can say that. I mean I'm still in love with him. Is it wrong to love a married man?" I asked him.

"I don't know is it?" he asked me. I elbowed him, and he elbowed me back.

"I mean I guess it would be wrong morally, but when your heart and when you know you love him the rest doesn't matter." he said.

"But the thing is that my parents didn't raise me that way. I want to not love him anymore, I don't want to hurt anymore! Derek, what I'm I gonna do when I go back to work?" I asked him. He put his arm around me as we continued to walk.

"Have your head held high! Right now he's in his honeymoon, so why don't you go back?" he replied. I thought about it.

"No, I'm gonna retire my music career, and retaking my hairdresser career, by moving here with Katie and Toby." I told him.

"That sounds great, I want to ask you something if I may?" he said. I nodded, he stopped me and went in front of me. Grabbing me by the shoulders.

"I've liked you since I first saw you, could you please take in consideration a proposal of going out with me?" he asked, I was taken by surprise.

"I don't know Derek, I mean I still love him, and I know you deserve someone who can love you 100% fully, and not me, who's heart is with someone else." I said .

"I don't need you to love me now! I just need hope." he said. His hands fell from my shoulders and on my hands holding them. Derek has always treated me like a princess.

"Derek I don't want you to get hurt. You're a great guy and......." I didn't even finish, when he crushed his lips onto mine. His warms lips were between mine. His hands were on my face, mine were just by my side. He pulled away and put his hands in his jean pockets and he looked at me.

"I'm so sorry, that was out of line. Its just that I like you a lot and just please say I have a chance." he begged. I put my hands on his face and kissed him, not because I loved him, it was more of an impulse. He placed his hands on my waist. I pulled away and kept my hands on his face.

"I'll give you, an oppurtunity, make me fall in love with you. I'm not saying no, but I'm not saying yes either." I said. He agreed and he walked me home. Deep down I knew I wasn't going to forget about Logan anytime soon, or later. But I would give Derek a chance, because he deserved it. We got to Toby and Katie's apartement it was on the second floor, and we opened the door and we told them about my plan. They were really happy for me. After we got done talking I walked Derek out of the apartment building.

"I'll see you tomorrow." Derek said I nodded. I turned around to the door, and I turned over to Derek and he kissesd me, again. I put my hands around neck, and his were on the hem of my jacket. We continued to kiss for two more minutes and he pulled away and we were forehead to forhead.

"That kiss was supposed to go on your cheek." he said. He began to talk but I cut him off by kissing him. Could Derek be the one to heal my wounds? I pulled away and put my hands on his chest and I patted it.

"I guess I'll see you tomorrow." I said, waving him goodbye and entering the building.

Logan's POV

I got to Long Beach, and James texted me Jackie's address. I got to her house and out of the car. I ran to the front door, and I knocked and rang the doorbell. Her dad opened the door. Uh-oh, he saw me and crossed his arms, her mom came out and told me to come in. I sat down on the couch and they sat across from me, Jacqueline had a lovely home.

"Mr. and Mrs. Gosling, I came here to come talk to Jackie. I regained my memory, and I realized that your daughter is the one I love and....." Jackie's mom interupted me.

"Logan, honey we know what happened, it was on national tv. What you did was an act of bravery. You took a stand for the woman you love. We don't need any explanation, we have it clear that you love her and we support you. So welcome back to our family." her mom said standing up and sitting next to me and hugging me. I hugged her back.

Her dad just looked at me.

"Sir, I know that it may take a lot for you to forgive me, but I was manipulated by Chelsea. I really love your daughter, and I was stupid not to see it when I lost my memory." I said to her dad.

"Listen son, I would've done the same thing in your place, so count on our blessing." he said standing up and sitting next to me. They hugged me, we all stood up and we went to door.

"So can you please tell me where she is at?" I begged, they looked at each other.
