You told me not to be afraid of the dark
But you couldn't see the way the shadows moved
You told me not to be afraid of the light
But you haven't seen the secrets better left behind
You told me not to be afraid of people's minds
But you haven't heard their thoughts
You told me not to be afraid of the music
But you haven't witnessed the scales that wrap around my throat
You taught me to be afraid of myself
And I taught you that you should be afraid of me too

PoésieA book of hopefully less angsty poems than my previous one, "From the Heart". Don't worry, they're still mostly sad. *** Je ne peux pas vivre sans toi
