~Melody's POV~
Suffocation. The most painful way to die, Suffocation. What happens when you're being suffocated but you can't actually die? Pain. Unstoppable pain.
"Mels?" Stefan asked while placing a soft hand on top of mine snapping me out of my daze and making me look into his concerned green eyes. "I'm fine" I spoke quietly trying to ignore the urgency, being a vampire sucks. "You're lying come on, let's go" Stefan said with concern before standing and helping me up making me feel nothing but guilt.
"I'm sorry" I said sadly when we reached outside where the urgency seemed to calm down, "you tried, it's fine" he smiled as we walked down the dimly lit street.
"Stefan" I smiled after a short silence passed, "Melody" he smiled in return as we came to a stop in our drive way, "I will learn to control it, when I do, we'll go out, properly" I smiled as I held his hands in mine. "This can't happen remember?" Stefan smiled as he rubbed the back of my hand with his thumb, "I know, I just. You're the only one that tried, I feel like you're the only one that cared" I smiled as I looked into his green eyes while water began to gather in mine. "They cared, they did. They just didn't know how to deal with it so they didn't try" Stefan shrugged as he let go of one of my hands and cupped my cheek "not helping" I laughed slightly.
We stood like that for a while, not in a awkward silence just enjoying each others company, "you have no idea how much I want to kiss you right now" Stefan blurted causing a bubble of shock to burst in my stomach, "we agreed" I smiled while looking down. I want him too, I do. I just can't, not till everything's back to normal. "I will get you eventually" he smirked making me laugh, maybe he's more like Damon than people think. "Before you carry out your plan at least help me get everything back to normal first? I want the old Melody back before you decide on what you want" I smiled looking into his eyes, "fine but I'm not changing my mind" he smiled before letting the moment go, "let's go back inside, it's getting late" he laughed before guiding me inside.
