We found alaska

Chapter 2

Colonels pov.

"Woah slow down." I say "We went to her funeral, we saw her casket." He must be delusional. Alaska is dead and I thought that we had all accepted that. But clearly pudge hasn't. Of course pudge can't let go. He thought he and Alaska had something really special. And maybe they did, he still has to let go though. "Tell me what happened."

"Iwasintakumisroomandheforgothisphoneonthecouchsoi-"he said.

"Slow down. I can't understand a single word you said."

"Okay. I was in Takumi's room and he went to go take a shower. However he left his phone on the couch. So I wanted to see if he was really dating someone and just holding back from us. Luckily his password was very predictable so I went through his messages and found one from Alaska." He says smiling brightly. "She's alive!"

"Look." I say "Did you check the date that the message was sent. She probably sent it before she died."

Pudge looked at his feet, "No." He whispers. "No!" he says again getting slightly louder. "NO!"

"I won't let her be taken away from me again!" He says. God why can't he just move on?

"Pudge you never really had her." l state plainly. "We all thought we knew her but we didn't. We have also all dealed with it SO WHY CAN'T YOU!" A little tear is released from my eye as pudge stares at me dumbfounded.

He turns around and walks out of the door slamming it with all his force. I shouldn't have been so harsh with him but can you blame me. He never listens to me, not once and I'm getting wickedly tired of this. All this drama is horrible but all the reminders of her are much much worse. Pudge needs to let her go. It was just a hookup thats all it was ever going to be. I don't bother chasing after him. Instead I crash onto the bunk and close my eyes.

Takumi's pov.

As I walk out of the shower I realize that my phone is not exactly where it was before. I go over to check it seeing that the screen is on only to find it unlocked. Oh no.

"Well, you sure do smell better." Pudge complements. Shifting my attention to him.

"Its coconut shampoo, I just got it."

"I have to go."

"But, we were gonna smoke and drink tonight."

"Sorry man."

He then runs -and I mean full on sprints- out of the room.

My phone opened to messages. Pudge found us out. I need to tell Alaska.

Pudge read my texts to you.

WHAT!

To> Lask

I don't know exactly how much he read but he totally freaked when I saw him.

Maybe he thinks the text were from before I died. Tell him they are make a whole lie about seeing me before I "died"

I don't know what to say.

Whatever I'll just make something up.

Delete these messages and be more careful.

I delete all of the messages I just sent first, then I leave my room to go find pudge.

Pudge's pov.

How could the colonel say that! He says he's moved on but there's no way he has. He just pushes all of his feelings to the side. They're all still there he just chooses not to feel them.

I turn around and see Takumi in the hallway. "Hello again." I say.

"Hi" he says. "Look I really need to talk to you. It's about Alaska."

"What about her." I reply, I just pray that he doesn't know I went through his messages.

"There are things that I've been holding back from you and the colonel. Things I should have told you long ago."

"What?" I ask curiously.

"Just meet me in my room in ten, and bring the colonel with you."

"Ummm... I don't know if he'll really listen to me right now."

"Why? You two get into some sort of fight."

"Sort of."

"Well see you in ten." He says, turning to leave.

"Wait. Should we bring Laura too?" I ask

"I'll tell her later." He says, and with that he leaves. I stay standing in the corridor playing the conversation over in my head. I wonder what he needs to talk about. I wonder if Alaska is alive. And if she is still alive, does she actually love me?
