Warden X Xara

[Warden's POV]

Jesse had been a nuisance lately and the Admin has fried me for Jesse's actions. She let Xara out of her cell, situated in cell-block X, and now all the 'guests' are out to kill me.

I was surrounded by them, outnumbered, completely vulnerable. That is until Jesse and her gang appeared. Everyone that was ready to attack me ran off. But why? I peeked over Jesse's shoulder to reveal Xara.

[Xara's POV]

Great. Just great. The moment I thought we were out of the prisons clutches, The Warden shows up. It's like he haunts me. Everywhere I go, he always seems to be watching me from the shadows. Not in a creepy way though. As if he was trying to..... protect me.

I always kind of fancied him, but in his eyes, he probably sees me as a worthless shell of my former self, without any purpose in life. He will never love anyone like me.

I didn't say a word, Jesse did that for me. We were about to finish him off (I was a little jumpy) when my worst enemy puffed into existence. Romeo. I glared daggers at him and was ready to compete in his little 'game.'

"Xara!? Attempting yet another escape I see." He taunted. Still glaring at him I said, "I'm done with you always trying to hurt others. I'm going to take those powers away from you so you can't scar anyone else." I threatened. He just laughed and turned to Inopi and ordered him to send me back to the prison cell. Jesse and her friends tried to avoid that, but got poofed out of existence in the click of Romeo's fingers.

[Warden's POV]

I 'obeyed' the orders the Admin had given me and proceeded to complete it. Xara didn't bother resisting me as I lead her down back to her quarter in cell-block X. I've known Xara for many years, since her powers were confiscated and to be honest....I've never met anyone with quite a character as Xara's. She is intimidating yet cute. Powerful yet gentle. She may seem tough on the outside, but on the inside is a broken sole that never healed. She has never been the same since her friend, Fred, was killed. Her heart has been broken then mended, then broken again....beyond the stage of repair. I've always kept an eye on her, to make sure she is fine.

I've had this feeling before. Many years before the Admin made me his servant.

Love. I love Xara and I would do anything to keep her out of harms way. I would give my own life for hers.

*time skip to cell-block X*

I got Xara back safely, without her trying to push me into the lava......for once.
"So....." I wanted to ask why she didn't fight for her freedom this time.
"Why didn't you resist me dragging you all the way down here?"
"Because there's no use fighting anymore. Without Jesse, there is no way I can stop Romeo."
"Of course there is hope. You are an amazing person with the ability to do anything you want, whether you have powers or none." I ended with sympathy in my voice. She looked at me as if I had just cracked a bad joke.

"You really think I hold that talent?" She asked.
"Absolutely."
We were just standing in the room, an awkward silence hovering in the atmosphere between us. Xara broke the silence saying, "Why haven't you locked me up in chains yet or put me in a room with no doors?" She wondered.

"I don't want to lock you up." I said in a soft whisper. She looked at me confused.
"Why not?"
"I like...." I was now blushing. I had to cover that with something. "I like....your company, yeah, company." I tried to cover the blush, but the light of the lava wasn't helping in this situation. Xara noticed and let out a small laugh.
It's the first time in ages that I've heard her laugh. I could tell she didn't believe me.

"I don't believe that." She says grinning widely at me while I stand there like a fool, blushing.
"What do you mean? It's true." I defended. It was half true.
"Come on. Tell me the truth Inopi." She said.
*sighs* "Ok. That was only a half truth. I wanted to say that.....I like you Xara." As if she had read my mind earlier she knew I didn't just like her because of her looks. I like her because of who she is and that she never gives up. She doesn't believe in failure.

"I've waited so long to hear that!" She states happily. She reaches for my shoulders and pulse me into a hug. When she lets go of me, she kisses my cheek. I was blushing furiously now.

As she was coming in for another kiss, the Admin teleported into reality and saw us having our 'little moment' together and was outraged. He tried to destroy Xara but I stood in front of her to guard her.

He glared flaming hot daggers at Xara and I. I needed some sort of weapon if I was to defeat Romeo. As if she read my mind, Xara handed me a golden sword.

I was ready to fight till death.

Romeo changed the scenery and with a swift movement of his wrist, sent masses of rocks flying my way. I dodged them by a few inches. Once again, he threw things at that I merely dodged. This happened a few times before he got bored and looked for anything else that he could fling at me in attempt to demolish me. This won't work for I have determination on keeping Xara safe. He was distracted by getting more elements to toss at me. I took this opportunity to sneak up on him and drill the sword right through his cold heart. My plan worked. My sword went through him like a hot knife through butter. Victory was ours. I dropped down on my knees to find the breath I had lost.

[Xara's POV]

Inopi had just guarded me with his life in the battlefield against Romeo. I was kneeling down next to him as he was on his knees, trying to catch his breath from the battle. He turned to face me, triumphantly and kissed me with pure enthusiasm. It was a short but passionate kiss.

I looked at him in a way I've never looked at others. Happiness flowing back into my broken sole.
