Petra's POV:

I invited Jesse, my best friend, to come mining with me. She agreed to accompany me when we go mine some iron later today. I think the best time to go mining is at night, where we can also get some loot from the occasional creeper or spider. Inviting Jesse wasn't just for fun or company...it was so I could pour out my bottled feelings for her.

I have known Jesse my whole life. We became friends since I was a little toddler. We became much closer friends over the years and our adventures have made me feel something for her. It may sound crazy but I like her. I like everything about her. Smile, laugh, way of thinking...but most of all, I like her personality. She is brave and always puts the team before herself.

While I was waiting for nightfall, I was busy gearing up tonight - ya'know, the basics. A pickaxe, sword, etc.
I stored everything in my inventory for now. I had walked over to my door, and I hear a knock. Must be Jesse. I open the door to be greeted by Jesse and her warm smile.

"Are you ready to go?" I asked her.
"Yup. Got everything I need....I think." She said.
"Then what are we waiting for?" I added as I headed through the door, closing it behind me.

During our walk to the cave, we were just chatting about whatever crossed our minds. It was quite entertaining actually, all the randomness that came out of our mouths.
A few minutes of walking and talking later, we were welcomed by the dark entrance of the cave. We stoped I front of it, just staring into the darkness. I was first to walk in, Jesse following behind me.

Jesse's POV

Petra walked into the cave first with me trailing behind her. I slowly drew my sword ready for any mobs hiding in the shadows. Petra took her pickaxe out.
"This looks like a good spot, let's start here." She suggested. I agreed and sheathed my sword, replacing it with my pickaxe and started hitting the stone wall with it in search of iron.

Time skip to an hour later of mining

Petra and I have done well in the past hour. We chiseled 71 pieces of iron, 20 chunks of coal and managed to find some diamonds.

With our needs satisfied and pockets full, we started to climb our way out of the cave, following the line of torches we made. We were at the halfway interval when I heard something skid across the floor. Petra must have heard it too because she had her sword out. I took my sword out too and scanned the area. I didn't see anything, yet here anything either.

We both hesitantly turned around, sword still in hand, keeping full attention to our surroundings. Petra said she wanted to explore another part in the cave, so we went on our own little adventure.

At the end of the tunnel, there was an empty room that was dimly lit by torches....it looked like the perfect place to tell someone what your feelings are for them.

Petra's POV

The room was the perfect place to tell Jesse how I feel towards her. We were standing in the middle of the room. This was it. I have to tell her.

"So, Jesse?" I began. She looked at me, waiting for me to carry on.
"Uh..we have...been friends for as long as I can remember and...um." I swallowed before I spoke again.
"I just want to ask you something first before I tell you...?"
"Ok. I'm all ears." She replies.
"Do you trust me with what I'm about to tell you?" I ask.
"Hmmm that depends on what you want to tell me..."

I take a quivering breath and fill her in:
"I like you Jesse. More than a friend and you may think I'm a creep for thinking of you in this way...and you don't have to feel the same. I just thought I'd let you know." I say. Worried that she won't want to be my friend anymore and tell everyone that I'm a freak. I am over thinking things here because Jesse thinks differently.

"Look Petra. I don't think you're a creep. I actually have my own feelings for you too. I guess this is a new adventure for us?" Jesse said. I nodded in agreement and as we were about to make our way out, a cave spider leaped off the ceiling of the cave and landed itself on Jesse.

I sliced the spider and helped Jesse up. She seemed okay. Unfortunately for us, the gloomy light of the cave wasn't helping this situation. We could here the monsters around us...we just couldn't see them. Jesse and I split up to get more work done. That was a bad idea. A creeper had creeped it's way to Jesse and before she could react to the blasted savage, she was blown across the passage and landed on her wrist.

She curled up on the floor while holding her wrist in pain. I have had just about enough of these mobs. Time for them to be at rest...
I swiftly killed all the monsters and made my way to Jesse.
"Are you okay?" I ask worriedly.
"I think I snapped my wrist." She moans in pain.
"Okay. I'll get you out of here and back to the house. Get some help too." I suggested. She nodded and we left the cave.

Time skip to the house

We were now safe and sound in Jesse's house. I had called a doctor to come over and check it out.
A knock at the door and I went to open it. I lead the doctor to Jesse and he inspected her. He claimed it to be broken. A while later he had put a cast around it and left me with some pain killers.

"So...how do you feel?" I ask Jesse, passing her the pain killers.
"It hurts a little. Not too bad though." She answered.
"If you need anything, you know where to find me." I tell her. I get up to leave when Jesse says 'wait.'

"Petra, you're my hero. Thank you for saving me earlier." She shyly remarks. I smile and hug her.
