How? chapter 29

~Laura's pov~

The last thing I knew Ross and I were about to get hit by a big 18 wheeler. I try to open my eyes but its just not working.I try to move my body but that doesn't work either. Whats going on here? I try to speak but nothing comes out. 

After about 5 minutes of trying to open my eyes they finally blink open. I look around and see Rocky, Rydel and Riker in this room. I think I'm in the hopital. Rocky was sitting in a cahir next to the bed. He looked over and his brown eyes met mine. He smiled and started talking.

"Riker. Rydel. Look she's waking up!"

Riker and Rydel come closer and i see the corners of their mouth rise. 

"Hey Laur! how are ya feelin?" Riker asked.

"Laura you had me scared out of my mind!" Rydel said as she gave me a tight hug.

The hug hurt but the only noise i could get out to let her know was a little cry.

"oww oww oww... " Was what i mannaged to get out.

"Ohh Laur i'm sooo soo sorry!!" Rydel appoligizes and lets go. 

"It's okay Delly! So what happened?" i asked.

"Well you and Ross went out to have your first date, and Then we get a call from the hospital saying that Ross and Laura Lynch" I smile as Rydels calles me a Lynch " and them mom was rushing us out the door to go to the hopital. We came the other day and you and Ross were still sleeping but we came back today and here ya are!" She finishes.

"Where's Ross?" i ask

"He is in I.C.U."  Rocky replied

"How is he hurt so bad and I'm not?" 

"Well when the truck was coming, apparently he used his body as a shield so you wouldn't get hurt. He risked his life to save yours." riker said

"Why would he do that?" I ask

"I'm guessing because he loves you." Rydel said

"I need to see him!" i say.

As i say that the doctor comes in and said that i broke my leg so i would be in a wheel chair for right now and that there was no damage to hy head. but that my rib cage would be a little sore. But other than that i was good. He gave me a perscrition for pain killers but thats it.

Riker and Rocky sighned me out while Rydel helped me get dressed then Rocky helped me get into the wheel chair. Rocky wheeled me to Ross' room.

I saw Stormie, Mark and Ryland in Ross' room. When Riker opens the door and they all look over at me and smile. 

Stormie was the first to get up and hug me. 

"Oh laur! I'm so happy your awake!" "Thanks Momma Storms!"

The next to get up was Mark then Ryland.

"Ummm.. Can I have a few minutes alone with Ross please?" I asked

"Sure sweetie!" Stormie said as she pushed everyone out the door. 

I rolled over to Ross' bed side and looked at him. His body was so bruised. He barely looked like Ross. I grabbed his hand and as i did, i felt my cheeks become wet and my eyes swolen. 

I can't stand to see him like this. I hid my face in his hands and began to sob. I sat like that for a few minutes just thinking. I was about to get up when i felt his hand start to move. I quickly looked up and say his eyes open. It was quiet. All accept of the machine that made that Beep Beep Beep spund. He smiled at me and took both of my hands. He looked deeply into my eyes and mine to his and he wispered to where i could barely hear him. 

"I Will Always Love You!" 

Then the machine made a sound i never wanted to hear. 

"Beeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep" all the Doctors and Nurses came rushing into the room and one wheeled me out.
