Riker's pov.
She looked at me with her big brown eyesand started talking............"my ....my dad use to call Me Laur.....It just reminded me of him... I really miss him Riker.....I just wish I could have said goodbye one last time." she said as tears streamed down her face.
I pulled her in for a hug and she just cryed into my shirt. I felt my shirt become wet , but I didnt care. All I care about right now is making Laura feel better.
"Laura I don't know what your going through but I know It must be hard. I just want you to know that I'm here for you and I'd like to get to know you better and maybe be close friends." I said with a cheeky smile.
"yeah! I'd like that alot ............. And for the Record ........ Yes you can call me Laur... but ONLY you because if anybody else calles me that, I'll probably get upset and I don't really wanna explaine the whole story again. Well.... I didn't really tell a story but...... you know what I mean." she said brightning up a little
"Yeah TOTALLY..... And if you want me too ...... If anybody calls you Laur I tell the ( Hey! Only I can Call her that ) LOL but ya know."
"Since we are coming up with nicknames can I call you Rike? I don't know why Rike but I kinda like that nickname"
When she asked to call me Rike I got a happy feeling inside. I don't know why but I feel like we are closer in some way shape or form. I realized that I havent answered her yet so I replied
"Well Duuhhhh LAUR!!!!" I say in kind of a girliesh tone.
Laura starts to giggle a little bit and that makes me laugh a little
"Hey we should probably head back before they all think that something happend." I say
"Yeah your probably right. Well come on. Lets go " she said as she stood up and reached out her hand to help me up. We were about to walk out when the called my name and said
" Wait!!!! I wanna tell you something before we leave."
"And what might that be" I ask.
"well......" she starts. "I don't really have any friends since I moved so will you be my Bestfriend. I " know why I just asked you that. But I feel like I can Really trust you and I think that we are Probably ALOT alike and ya know." she said
"I thought we already were?" I said is a sarcastic tone yet a serious one at the same time.
She ran up to me and gave me a hug. I didn't dare let go just yet. After about a minute we let go and walked in to the other room.
