Awkward silence filled the room Kakashi and Kinoe were staying at. Kinoe's confession received silence which only made him quieter. His gaze looked down the ground as if it was piercing it.
"We better find a way to get out here before the gas seeps through the walls." Kakashi said, breaking the silence.
"Y-yes, Kakashi." Kinoe replied and assisted him to stand up. As soon as Kakashi stood up, he refrained from letting Kinoe help him saying that he can stand up by himself.
Kakashi wobbled with each step but after a few minutes, Kakashi was back from himself. Outside the door, the gas was overwhelming. They need to get out without inhaling even a bit of gas from the giant snake's flesh.
Kakashi removed his mask and gave it to Kinoe. "Here. Wear this. The gas can still be fatal even if you have my mask but it'll prevent it from entering your nose while we run straight to the exit."
"But what about you?" Kinoe asked.
"I'll be fine. Just take it."
Kinoe took Kakashi's mask and wore it. Kakashi took a deep breath and opened the door. The gas was thick as mist.
"Kinoe won't be able to make it through this but with my speed, we both can get out here." he whispered to himself.
"Hop on my back, Kinoe. Hurry." Kinoe did as Kakashi say and Kakashi sprinted towards their front. He felt Kinoe's grip loosen a bit so he held him tighter and they both got out the abandoned lab safely.
Kakashi caught up with his breath and looked at the clouds. He felt Kinoe tug his shoulder. "Here. Your mask."
"Keep it. You can have it."
"But it's yours..."
"Kinoe. Do you love me?"
Kinoe stood silent again and refused to look Kakashi but this time in the face. Kakasho went near him and put his arm on his shoulder. "I'll ask you one more time. Do you love me?"
"Y-yes." Kinoe replied reluctantly. He wore his mask and was about to take off.
"Then leave Danzo's foundation and join the ANBU directly under the Hokage's commands. You could be on my team and we could be closer together."
"S-so does that mean... you love me back too?" Kinoe asked. His tone dropping.
"Well I didn't necessarily say that but I'll be glad if you're on my team."
"Oh... I really want to but I can't. I can't leave the root."
"Then what will you do now? You failed to retrieve the sharingan and who knows what Danzo might do to you."
"I stand resolute."
Kinoe took off and went to Danzo to report that he failed his mission.

Kakashi went to the third Hokage to discuss a matter regarding Danzo and the mission he sent his ANBU, Kinoe.
"Lord third, I ask a request for you to transfer the wood-style user, Kinoe under your direct command. Danzo gave him a mission to get my sharingan but stopped midway to save me. Who knows what Danzo might do to him."
"In that case, summon Danzo immediately."
Kakashi went to Danzo's foundation only to find out that he put a seal on Kinoe. Kakashi used his sharingan to suppress the two guards of the foundation and went to Kinoe directly.
He released him from the genjutsu and they both escaped but upon their wait stood Danzo and his ANBU-nins.
"You know I won't let you slip off that easily." Danzo said.
"And I won't let you slip off easily too." echoed a voice. The third hokage's voice.
"I sent Kakashi here to get Kinoe. I'm willing to assign him to my ANBU since he'll play a big role in the safety of Konoha. Please understand that I'm doing this for the sake of Konoha."
Without another word from Danzo, he agreed and let Kinoe join the Hokage's ANBU.

A day after, Kinoe was assigned to Kakashi's team. He arrived at the locker room and introduced himself to everyone but Kakashi gave him another name; "Tenzo"
"Welcome to my team. Team Ro, Tenzo."
"Thanks, Kakashi"
Yeah this is ACTUALLY episode 355-356 I just changed some parts. But the original plot of this fanfiction will be coming after this. I just thought of writing this so chapter one wouldn't be a mess.
