The next morning, the sun had shone brighter than the previous days or maybe it was just in Yamato's eyes since he had a little 'situation' with Kakashi last night. He felt blooming and a little bit giggly whenever he remembers the dominance of his Seme.
Perfect. Just perfect but then his smile and lively attitude fell when he remembered how Kakashi left. His simple apology and anti-climatic exit.
The thought haunted Yamato's head. He wants to talk to his senpai but he doesn't know what to say. He wants to confront him without the fear of rejection... after what happened, who would fear rejection? In the end he thought if he really loves Kakashi, words will just inevitably come out from his mouth.
He took a quick bath and headed to the Hokage mansion to ask for a day off.
"A day off?!" Tsunade exclaimed and slammed her palm on the desk.
"Y-yes Tsunade-sama... only for this day." Yamato pleaded. Tsunade sat down and wondered for a while.
"Granted. Tell Kakashi he can have this day off too since you two took care of those neighboring ninjas. Have a good day." She smiled widely it turned the atmosphere eerie.
Yamato walked outside staring at the once blue sky that now turned gray. Darker and dimmer until the rain started pouring. Heavier and heavier. He didn't run or stopped to get some shade from the crying sky. He empathized with the sky as he walked home but on his way he passed by Kakashi's house.
He knocked reluctantly and was greeted by Kakashi wearing his full ninja attire. "Good day, senpai." Yamato smiled wet on his face. Kakashi remained silent. He didn't speak which made the aura awkward.
Yamato continued "I just came by to told you that Tsunade-sama gave us the day off." Yamato smiled largely but it couldn't cover up the awkward silence Kakashi is giving off. Yamato waited for him to at least say anything... anything that would ease the awkwardness but Kakashi made it seem that he's just waiting for Yamato to leave.
"Then I'll go home-"
"Stay." Kakashi said and opened his door wider. Yamato froze from head to toe at his senpai's cliff hanging word. They stared at each other eye to eye. Yamato saw regret in Kakashi's eye and there's no telling to what Kakashi saw in Yamato's.
At the loud roar of thunder, Yamato stumbled but got up immediately. He went inside and took off his sandals. Kakashi took off his vest and just wore his black shirt and pants. The day was given to both of them.
Kakashi handed Yamato some of his clothes fresh from the copy ninja's closet. "You can change inside my room." Kakashi said without looking at Yamato.
Yamato just felt even more awkward in Kakashi's presence. He never felt this way around him before. This was his first time having to feel this way.
Kakashi leaned on the wall at the side of his room's door making it hard for Yamato to come in. He wasn't staring at Yamato though. He just stared at the ceiling thinking deeply. Yamato entered Kakashi's room and changed his clothes as fast as he could.
When he came out, Kakashi made him a hot drink at his sofa. Kakashi sat at one side and Yamato sat at the other, leaving nothing but emptiness between them.
After a few minutes, Yamato couldn't stand it any longer. He clenched his fists and began to speak his mind. "Last night you kissed me... truth be told I liked it becuse Kakashi... I like you but it was clear before that you can't like me back the same way I like you so I want to know why you did it. Behind every action lies a reason, right?"
Kakashi's expression changed. He looked at Yamato shortly but looked in another direction. Both of them can tell that the situation is very complicated.
"Why, Kakashi?" Yamato's voice was cracking. He stood up and went in front of Kakashi. He asked the same question over and over until Kakashi gave up and finally answered him.
"Perhaps it's because I may like you too."
Yamato stopped at the thought "Senpai... likes me? Wait, there's 'may' hmm."
Kakashi stood up and forced Yamato to sit down the sofa. "I took advantage of you and became selfish. I only thought about myself last night and when I heard you say stop I realized what I've done was wrong."
Yamato smirked and pushed his senpai down the sofa with him lying atop of Kakashi.
"Wha..." Kakashi mumbled.
"Kakashi-senpai, you're wrong. I like what you did to me last night. I just know my limitations but if you like... I can take you there."
Kakashi smiled behind his mask. "You're not fit to be the dominant one, Yamato."
At his senpai's words, Yamato immediately gets off Kakashi and blushes tomato red "S-sorry." He apologized.
"Now we're even." Kakashi eye-smiled. The awkwardness between them vanished and it was only awkward in a good way to Yamato.
The rain stopped and Yamato thought it was finally time for him to go home. He went inside Kakashi's room to take his wet clothes from before. The clothes were still damp but he wore them anyway.
He bid Kakashi goodbye and went home.
