HOW I LOOK AT YOU
-DANICA MARIE MARASIGANYou look at her as if she's got galaxies in her eyes
Ans like she's made out of gold
Like she's got diamonds adorning her body
Like she's got sunshine shining right out of her
Like she's heaven in the hell of this very world
And I know why
Because that's exactly how I look at youUNCERTAINTIES OF TOMORROW
-LOUISE JAYNE ESPAÑOLA and EDZEL LOPEZAmidst the tall skyscrapers
The smoke belching cars passing by
And passive people walking by
Stand two old oak treesTwo trees so frail and bent
With leaves almost touching the ground
Two trees that would surely give way
Had they not been intertwinedMy heart was struck in the most unimaginable way
How can two be one,
And remain as they are,
Despite the wear and tear of time?Has not the love ever been gone?
Or has it for love will always be so?
But surrender was never a word
And steadfastness was all that matteredWhy can't humanity know this for sure?
Is it difficult to comprehend?
Is it fate's little game?
Or is it merely the lack of strife?I'd shower my girl with my efforts, openness and priority
And man with affection, fondness and time
And I would never tire of and settle for sufficiency for us I'd never let us goI'd expect her wrinkles, to add weight and mood swings
And his vulnerabilities and endless faults
But I would never let us go
And would always hope for success evermoreMaybe only time could tell
Or maybe it's us who would
I don't know
But I'll keep on tryingEveryone fades as time goes by
After some time, those trees may die
In life, someone may go away
But the memories will forever stay.DYING LIGHT
-JAMIE DOMINIQUE DANGO"So, this is it, huh, Alice?" the young boy said,
staring off into the orange sky. "If those brainiacs were
right, the sun's light would die soon."
The girl sitting beside him hummed while tapping
the ground with her feet. "Yeah. I never knew we'd live
to see the day the sun died. Kind of sucks, really. We
were so close to graduating, you know?"
The boy looked at her as she 'gazed' at the darkening
horizon.
"Travis?"
Her small voice caught his attention. "What is it?"
"So, the sun's dying now, right? Does that
mean the sky's getting darker?'
"Duh. Did you think it'd get brighter?"
She scowled at him. "Hey it's not my fault I'm blind.
Anyway, what does it look like? Is it all purple and blue?"
"Well, it's more of an orange and purple. You got
one right."
"What does it look like?"
"Like a red sunset."
Alice sighed and leaned back against the bench,
resting her head on his shoulder and closing her eyes.
"At least I got to spend the last minutes of daylight
with you."
"The feeling's mutual . . ." he whispered back before
returning his gaze to the dying star.
Alice could feel the heartbeat running through her face. Who
wouldn't after being this close to someone she a
crush on for years? He was probably thinking about
how sappy she was being right now, but right now, she
didn't care.
Travis . . ." She placed her hand next to his and felt
him shudder. She chuckled at, knowing that he couldn't
have felt the same about her, a blind girl who was just a
burden for everyone, a burden for him. The color and
shapes slowly faded into her vision after opening her
eyes. She looked up at him and smiled, "Thank you for
being with me."
