Cpt 3. Welcome to the Company

I sat on my own, quietly eating my cake and drinking tea. I am still not sure why Bilbo has 13 Dwarves and a wizard in his house...but hey...why not?

I looked around the area I was in and noticed the decorations Bilbo had on his walls, he really was a home maker...really was.

"Hello" I jumped, not expecting anyone. I turned to see one of the dwarves and I grinned. "Hello~" I said sweetly standing up to look at him.

"I'm Kili," he said with a charming smile. "Melody, pleasure." I looked him up and down, handsome is a understatement.

"What are you doing here by yourself? I pretty girl like you shouldn't be left alone." He said coming closer.

I turned and pulled out a chair for him to sit on. He gladly sat and smiled at me.

"So... If it's alright may I ask why all of you are here?" I said looking down at my hands in my lap not wanting to make eye contact.

"Well we're here because Gandalf said that Bilbo would be an excellent burglar for our journey."

Bilbo?!? A Burglar HA!

"Ha, if you wanted a burglar you could just take me!" I mumbled and laughed.

"Whys that?" Kili said laughing and taking a drink of Ale.

"Well for one, I'm not sure if Bilbo is what you would call adventurous, two, girls are quieter than men especially me given my smaller size I'm lighter, and I know how to fight and hide and I can stand up for myself pretty fairly." I said nonchalantly not thinking that Kili was actually taking me seriously!!

"You sound perfect!! I'll talk to Thorin!!" With that Kili ran off.

"WAIT! Oh...nope your gone." I rolled my eyes and wandered into the dining room to find Bilbo and Gandalf talking.

"Hey Bilbo, Gandalf." I said taking a seat.

Gandalf grinned at me and Bilbo started to speak.

"Can you guarantee that I would come back alive?" He said with worry in his voice. "No. I cannot." I looked at Bilbo with my eyebrows furrowed.

"Gandalf..." I said quietly. "Yes?"

"Could I go? In place of Bilbo...or with Bilbo?" I said looking around as not to make eye contact.

"Why would you want to go?!" Bilbo shouted. I shrugged.

Gandalf stood and looked at me, "it would be a pleasure to have you in Thorin's company." I turned my head. "Thorin's company? You mean the Dwarf I opened the door for earlier? Why is it his company?" Gandalf sat me down and explained the whole deal to me.

*time skip*

After I had been all filled in on what was going on, I was even more excited to help Thorin and the others claim their home back...I know how they felt...

Balin gave me the contract to sign, I signed it immediately but bilbo didn't...said he needed more time to think.

I walked out into the other room where all of the Dwarves where standing...looking at the fire. I found Kili and he gestured me to stand by him, I gladly did. As I did I met his brother Fili, they where both very nice.

As we stood, I looked and saw Thorin had been looking at me. I met his gaze...his blue eyes...they where like the color of a sapphire and they practically had me in a trance. I smiled at him and he turned away....ouch, okay?

"Hey Kili..." I said tugging on Kili's sleeve gently. He leaned down to hear what I was going to say. "Does Thorin not like me or something..." Kili shrugged. "He seemed interested in you when you where sitting eating by yourself. He was glancing at you from time to time and was thinking about coming and talking to you." I nodded. "Okay....oh and I'm coming with you guys, I signed the contract." I whispered

"YOUR COMING WITH US?!" Kili yelled excited

"WHAT!!" Thorin yelled
