Hanji's POV:
I flung the wet shirt in the hamper, knowing it would soak the bathroom floor if I had let it be. My brown hair was soaked, leaving me with one thought, 'Well, that was my shower.'
The wind howled against the window, rain pouring harder as the thunder bellowed in anger. Even though I was pissed at Levi, I was still hoping he was okay.
"He's working late tonight, so he'll be safe from the storm." I told myself as the worry for my best friend....and boyfriend started to increase.
'If he doesn't text or call within five minutes, then I'll check up on him.' I thought to myself as I plopped down on the couch, excitement coursing through me as I saw new episodes of Race To The Edge. (A/N: any HTTYD fans here???)
Every couple seconds, I checked my phone. Worried that something may have happened to him, or maybe that he sent a text and I didn't get notified.
"Ah, fuck it." I cursed under my breath, grabbing my phone, flinching when the apartment door slammed open.
There in the doorway was Levi, drenched and angry, "Where the hell were you?" He growled.
Shaking my head, opening my mouth to answer him until he cut me off.
"I was at that damn high school for over an hour waiting for you. Just to now find out you were at the apartment the entire time!"
"You said you were working late tonight, I figured you weren't gonna pick me up." I replied, shrugging.
"Hanji Eleanor Zoe! Of course I would pick you up, you're my goddamn best friend! Not to mention, you're too broke to own a shitty car!" Levi roared.
I stifled a laugh as I was imagining him as a mouse, since he was short and all.
"The hell are you laughing at Shittyglasses?"
"Oh, nothing, which reminds me, I'm gonna kick your ass Shorty!"
"Oh really?" The shorter male taunted.
"Yes, really." Mocking his voice, "And we still have to talk about the conversation in the car earlier!"
"Exactly, so sit and we'll talk about it."
He was angry just a couple minutes ago and now he's calm. His mood changes give me whiplash.
The show in the background continued, on the episode where Astrid was feeling hurt and jealous over the fact that Hiccup doesn't pay much attention to her. I sighed, knowing I would have to re-watch the episode again, just to know what happened.
"I-" We both started.
"No, you go first-" Levi and I said again.
"By all means, ladies first."
I took a deep breath, "Okay, what you said about the deal, it really hurt my feelings-"
The lights went out as we sat in darkness, a shiver running down my spine at the thought of being alone in the dark. Realizing that Levi was here next to me, he groaned and got up.
"I'll go get the flashlights." Levi told me, pulling out his phone to use his flashlight on there.
I jumped up and grabbed his arm, I knew for a fact that he had an eyebrow raised at my sudden movement.
"I-I...Just don't leave me alone." I managed to spit out.
"Fine, come on." The raven haired man groaned as he held my hand with his. My heart racing as the adrenaline took over. My best friend cursed under his breath as he ran into something, pulling the drawer open to reveal five flashlights.
"Okay, I'll go grab the candles and lanterns. Do you think you can set them up around the apartment? All by yourself?"
I chuckled as my fingers brushed against his, grabbing the flashlights, "I'll be fine, I have flashlights."
The male nodded before heading off to the storage closet and bathroom, "Shorty, wait!" I hissed.
"What?"
"Don't forget to grab the glowsticks from my room!"
"Why the fuck do you have shitty glowsticks Hanji?" He asked.
"For times like these, obviously." I stated as I turned on one of the flashlights, leaving it on the counter. Moving around the room to spread them out evenly, giving us the most light possible.
Levi had came back moments later with the candles, lanterns, and one of my lighters. Disappointment washing over me as I remembered how that filthy habit began. How could I have been so stupid?
"Oi, Four-eyes! I'm all done."
Now, I could see some features of his face as I turned on the lantern, leaving it on top of the t.v.
"Now, back to what you were saying?"
"I don't wanna be the only one who falls for you. When you told me about the deal, I thought you meant you would be in on this too. If I do this, I want to make sure I'm the only one who doesn't get heartbroken. That I'm not the only one who has all these feelings." I explained, wringing my clothes as nerves took over.
Levi had stayed quiet for a while before reluctantly agreeing, "Fine. I'll be in on it too."
I let out a breath as I leaned against the couch, Levi laying his head on my lap as we both stayed up. Talking about things that came to our mind.
The rain slowly letting up as we both peacefully drifted off to sleep.
