Three years. Three whole years ago my world came crumbling down. Shattered into a million splints of pain filled memories.

Three years earlier

It was an average school filled Wednesday. Drama, disagreements and of course the rumours.

My eyes drooped heavily as I tapped my pencil on the desk.

Tick, tock, tick, tock.

Please get me out of this hell hole.

*knock,knock*

Great another one of those officers runners. I kinda zoned out at this point I mean seriously this is Math class, the king of boredom.

"Saffron Brooks , it says you must go to reception immediately." Miss know it alls voice rings through my ears snapping me back to the harsh reality which is highschool.

Sighing I grab my things and  tiredly stroll out of the class room being sure to slam the door shut a little too loudly.

It never actually occurred to me what I was doing out of lesson. I mean my mum was like any other good mum, she made sure I attended school everyday of every semester. Feeling like death today?

"No worries, nothing a nice hot shower wouldn't solve." That ladies and gents is a classic example of my mother's ways.

As I reached the front of the brick school I noticed my aunt stood by reception. She look panicked and a thin layer of sweat formed on her temple. Unsure of what was happening I approached her. As the distance between us began to lessen the anxiety in the air grew and I could make out the trembling of her bottom lip.

Fear grew inside me and began coursing through my veins. I felt my eyes begin to sting, threatening to spill the moment she uncovered the dreaded news.

"It's Liam, he slipped into a coma after crashing his motorcycle."

With that my vision blurred, legs buckled and darkness invaded my body.
