Song of the chapter - Another World by The Vamps

Fifteen minutes later and we were entering the mall. As I stepped foot through the double doors, it dawned on me. I hadn't been to this place in three years, three whole years. It held so many memories. Sure they were small ones like that time me and Tessa got chased by security because we threw fake spiders at the elders in the café. Those were the memories I planned to cherish for my whole life.
Tessa must've noticed my sudden change of mood because she began to cautiously eye me. Her eyebrows were raised along with a look of worry etched into her features.
"Are you alright? We can go if you like? I knew this was a bad idea, I mean you're obviously not ready and then there's the whole school thing. Surely you aren't ready. Oh my goodness I'm so sorry I knew I shouldn't have pushed you to this." By the end of her ramble Tessa's cheeks were bright red and tears were forming in her eyes.
"Hey, don't be stupid, Tess. I did this off my own back and I am ready for this. It's now or never Tessa and I need this. I need my old life back." Cleary some people didn't have anything better to do than to listen to what sounded like our very scripted crisis because a few people had stopped to listen.
"What are you looking at baldy? Don't you have a wig to be finding?" Oh God Tess. The man's cheeks were an unhealthy shade of crimson and he quickly scurried off in embarrassment. The rest of the crowd began to filter away as people escaped the harsh remarks that were sure to be fired their way any second.
"Tess! THAT WAS SO MEAN BUT SO FUNNY. CAN WE GO SHOP NOW?"
"I think you may have caused me to go deaf." Wow. What a drama queen.
"Oh come on." We excitedly skipped off linking one another and began to head towards Topshop. It's Tessa's favourite shop and guessing by how well she dresses there's clearly some seriously good stuff in there.
After 3 hours of shopping in every shop there is I had at least 15 different outfits and 5 pairs of new shoes. I also got some new underwear because apparently mine is too granny like according to Tess. Who cares it's not like I plan for anyone to see it anyways.
Well to say the least I am exhausted and its only 4pm so we decide to go to the food court and refuel. Tess mentioned something about meeting someone up there, I don't know who though she won't say.
Two double cheese burgers and one banana milkshake later I can hardly walk. Well I can but I look like an umpalumpa, you know one of those fat round things from Charlie and The Chocolate Factory?
Well anyways I was ready to leave but Tessa clearly had different plans as she began calling to a group of boys stood near the entrance.
As they began to approach us it was only then I realised these boys were super hot. You know the type of boys you see in magazines or on billboards, well these were them boys.
Suddenly I began to feel super self conscious, I mean come on these boys were like angels!
"Hey babe." One of them greeted Tessa with a kiss. Wait what.
*cough cough*
I started to feel awkward, she has never mentioned anything about a boy before, especially not one as hot as this.
He had dark brown hair that looked dishelved but sexy at the same time. He could totally pull that look off. His eyes were a murky green with a hint of mischief. I didn't trust him already, he had an odd vibe about him. Like he was hiding something. I was sure to find out anyway.
"Oh, sorry Saff, this is Dylan, my boyfriend." Boyfriend huh?
"Hey, nice to meet you." He gave me a cheeky grin and a patronising wave. Yep, certainly did not like this boy.
I muscled up my finest 'I don't like you but I'll be nice to you for the sake of my best friend' look and replied with a blunt "Hi."
My eyes wandered around to the rest of the group, who were sure to have already made themselves comfy. Boys. Typical. Wait... not that I'd know I've not been in the public eye or in the company of boys for three years.
"I'm Mike, this is Evan and that's Jacob." The blonde one finally spoke up, relieving some of the tension that had formed in air. I glanced up at him. Wow. Now he is hot. Perfect jawline, deep blue eyes, long lashes and the fittest body I've ever seen.
"Saffron. Saff for short." I replied with the short statement and a polite smile.
"Cool."
For the next hour we all chatted. Little did I know there was more to these boys than what meets the eye. My side's were about to split from laughing so hard! I kinda felt rude for judging them so quickly, I mean, who blames me, it's societies fault.
Before I knew it I was back in the car with Tessa discussing the events of the day.
"Soo, what do you think of Dylan?" She must have known I was wary about him but she is my best friend and I don't want her heart breaking so who blames me? If I had to break a few noses to make sure that didn't happen then I'm all up for it.
"He's cool but Tess I swear if he hurts you I won't hesitate to ch..."
"Choke him with your dog's lead. I know, I know but Dylan isn't like that he says he really likes me." I could tell she really did have feelings for this boy, but we all know looks are deceiving.
"Alright, alright. I believe you." At long last we pulled into my drive way.
"Yay. Love you Saff. I'll be here in the morning to pick you up for school. Call me later, bye babe." Ten shopping bags in hand I rolled out the car being sure to tell Tessa I would ring her later.
Lucky the front door was unlocked, I had forgotten my keys and certainly did not fancy spending the night outside, easy prey for the town's rapist and all.
I hear muffled screams coming from the living room, it's probably just Rose scolding the cat for peeling on the rug again. (a/n Rose is Safe's aunt)
"You can't just show up here like this. No calls, no nothing! She's broken Maggie! Not only did she lose her brother but she had to face losing her mother too!" No, no, no, no, no. I'm not ready for this. I can't do this. I can't face her. I just can't.
Maybe it's just a misunderstanding. Some kind of sick joke and my mother ,who happened to have abandoned me, is not stood in my living room right now.
"Saff is that you?" My aunt called for me. Cautiously I made my way to the living room to only confirm that she was here. My mother. She looked older, still as beautiful as ever but older.
With the thought of all she had put me through fresh in my mind I charged up the stairs, slammed the door and broke down.
How could she do this to me?
Why now I was coping just fine without her.
