Song of the chapter- Alive by One Direction

I perched on my balcony deep in thought, staring out into the distance. Trees were scattered along the sky line and pastel tendrils of light oozed across the sky. It was around 8:30pm and the sun was just setting.
Sunset was always the perfect time for me to just sit and think really.
I thought about how my life would be right now, if that didn't happen. Would we still be a family? Laughing, joking, loving each other and simply enjoying life. I thought about him often, his dark hair and light eyes full of life and happiness.
We had everything we needed, and I mean everything.
Without a father to look up to, to protect me, he took the role as not only my brother but my father also and I loved him for that.
I knew it was time to let go of the pain eating me from the inside, devouring every ounce of sanity I held onto.
For the past 2 years I'd been home schooled. Sadly but not so sadly I missed a year of school due not being stable enough. You can imagine I had a lot of catching up to do. No way do I plan staying home schooled, it just doesn't cut the cake for me. I know I'm ready to go back, I know I am.
With the thought of feeling sane again I drifted into a peaceful sleep along with the sound of the humming wind.
The next morning
"Saff, wake up now!"
Ugh my head hurts.
What the...
Why am I on the floor?
Oh who cares.
I forced my eyes open to face the intruder who so kindly thought it was cool to storm in here like the incredible hulk.
Erm, I don't think so.
"Oh for God sakes Tessa. Couldn't you oh so kindly thought of a more pleasant way to make an entrance?" My voice was hoarse and my throat was dry.
I Needed water.
"Oh seriously Saff, it's like 12 in the afternoon and you're still in bed. Well on the floor but hey, anyway I mean yeah there's nothing wrong with a little beauty sleep but come on did you honestly think I wouldn't come in here?"
Well I guess she did have a point. I mean this is Tessa Andrews we're talking about, typical pretty girl with long blonde hair, slim figure and of course the rich parents. She pretty much never got told no by anyone. All the boys in town drooled over her like she was a piece of meat or something.
"Oh haha, note the sarcasm'" I snapped back at her.
"Stop being moody girl. We're going to the mall to give you a make over! Lighten up and go take a shower."
I could argue all I wanted but she'd shower me if she had to and I certainly did not fancy Tessa seeing me naked. The poor girl would need therapy for a year.
Huffing I disappeared into my ensuite locking the door behind me.
The hot water pelted my skin and it certainly did not relieve any of the stress I felt for returning to school.
After scrubbing my skin and washing my hair I stepped out of the shower careful not to slip. That happened once and it certainly was embarrassing for my mother to find me with nothing but a towel wrapped around me and a broken ankle.
I walked out to find Tessa sprawled across my bed scrolling through which looked like Twitter. I wouldn't know though, I haven't been on any social networking sights since that day.
"There you are. I thought I'd have to barge the door down and give you CPR or something." Wow. WHAT a drama queen, seriously Tess.
"Hilarious now help me with my hair, it looks like tumble weed for crying out loud." I groaned in frustration at my nest of hair.
After spending 10 minutes drying my chocolate hair Tessa switched the curling wand on and began working on my hair. After nearly half an hour I had a head of long bouncy waves that cascaded down my back. Wow, this girl really could do anything. After fluffing it a little and adding a spritz of hairspray to keep its hold she began working on my face.
After what seemed like a life time my face was now ready with a layer of foundation and rose blusher, along with a coat of mascara and some berry lipstick. Thankful for her creative hands I went in search of an outfit for the day.
My wardrobe was bleak with nothing but dreary old clothes and baggy sweats. As you can tell I hadn't been shopping in so long. I hadn't needed to either, I never left the house.
"Here, I thought you'd need these." Tessa handed me a large bag. I gave her a look of confusion but began to pull out whatever was in the bag.
My hand reached for the Levi denim jacket stuffed inside. Wow, this girl sure had style. I then pulled out a pair of high waisted black skinny jeans along with a white woven, thin, cream and cropped jumper.
I thought I'd seen it all until I peered in a little further only to find a brand new pair of cherry red doc martens.
"TESSA WHAT THE HELL I CAN'T SERIOUSLY TAKE THIS. IT MUST OF COST A FORTUNE. NOPE, NOPE AND NOPE. NOT HAVING IT." She simply rolled her eyes, grabbed the bag and threw it and me into the bathroom.
Oh, Okay.
After changing I walked back into my room to find Tess.
"Oh em gee. You look soooo good. Like seriously you're figure is perfect. We are so getting you more clothes like this."
I peered in the mirror and began eyeing myself. She wasn't wrong, I didn't look that bad, not too good either but I looked and felt like me, the girl before all this.
"Let me grab my purse and then we can leave" I called to Tessa as she began making her way down the 3 flights of stairs. After searching for my purse for about 10 minutes I finally found it and raced out door saying goodbye to my aunt in the process.
"Being on time never really was your thing" Hilarious this girl. Just hilarious
"Oh ha ha just drive." Once again note the sarcasm.
