I've never believed in Love.
To me, it didn't exist.
Sure I was fascinated and intrigued by romance novels but that's all it was to me,a story, Fiction.Love didn't exist beyond the pages of a hardback novel.
I had seen it countless times with all members of society.
They called it love, I called it temporary infatuation.
Never had I witnessed a truly happy couple amongst the peerage.
All marriages were conducted as if it were a business arrangement, including that of my parents.
I suppose my own marriage started off in a similar way, as a business arrangement that is.
Don't misjudged me, I knew that when I was to marry it wouldn't be for "love", rather I hoped it would be with a good companion, a friend who would always stick by me. But that, sadly, was not meant to be.
At least that's what I thought...
