Jessica's POV

My eyes flutter open. I see a tv on the wall across from me playing "Friends". I hear a familiar laugh coming from the left of me.

I look to where the sound is coming from. Justin's sitting next to me. I look down at myself, realizing I'm in a hospital gown.

"J-Justin?" I say trying to speak with a dry mouth & throat, motioning to the water sitting on the table next to us.

"Oh hey! You're awake! Oh, water. Yeah, here you go."

He finally understands & hands me the water that was out of my reach.

"What happened?" I ask him.

"Um...you were shot by Arabella's friend, Stella, while you were drunk off your ass. Fredo &  I rushed you here, while Layla called the cops. You ended up blacking out from loss of blood."

"How long have I been out of it?"

"Just since last night, so not super long."

"Am I going to be okay?"

"Yes, baby. You're okay. The doctors stitched you up, you're healing well."

"Oh..okay. That's good. Um...has anyone spoken to my family? Or Sean?"

"Yeah, your mom & Derek are on their way out here now. They couldn't get a flight out til this morning. I left Sean a voicemail, but he didn't respond."

"Do you have my phone by any chance?"

"Uh, yeah. Here you go." he says handing me my phone.

"Thanks."

I grab my phone from him & FaceTime Sean.

"I'm gonna go let the nurses you're up." Justin says getting up from his seat. I nod in agreement.

"Hi baby." I say to Sean with a pouty face when he answers.

"Hey baby, you alright? What happened?" he asks.

"Ya know that bitch, Arabella?"

"Yeah?"

"Her friend I guess shot me in the arm. I don't know the full story yet but once I do I'll obviously tell you."

"Yeah, she seems to be okay." Justin says walking into the room.

"Is that Justin?" Sean says asking.

"Um yeah."

"What's he doing there?"

"I honestly don't know but I gotta go. The nurse is here now. Bye babe, love you!" I say as I ended the call.

"Hello, Jessica. Nice to finally meet you officially, I'm Doctor Kalua. I was the one to stitch that wound back up." he says shaking my hand.

"Hi, nice to meet you."

"How are you feeling?" he asks.

"Um...I feel pretty okay I guess. Kinda tired."

"Any pain?"

"No, not really."

"That medicine must be working then! We'll see how you progress through the day & we will determine when you can be discharged."

"Okay, thank you."

"You're very welcome. If you have an appetite, one of your nurses will be more than happy to bring you some food."

"I am actually pretty hungry."

"Great, that's a good sign. I'll have some food brought up to you."
