"My children, you have just witnessed the savagery of these filthy rebels!" The king shouted out into the crowd of onlookers. All eyes turned on us. Their looks of disgust made my stomach twist. Those who I had once believed to be my friends turned away, shunning me. I was nothing to them now.

"The time for punishment has come!" announced the king with his arms held high above him. Cheers and applauds boomed from the crowd. This is what they had been waiting for, and what we had been dreading.

Guards began to surround us, trapping us once again. I looked frantically from mother to Valencia desperate for instructions on what to do, but they just sat there starring at the ground. "What do We do? What do we do?!" I screamed from within. One of the guards picked Zorah up and grabbed me by my hair while two others took Valencia by the arms. They were separating us from mother. "No..Nonono! Stop! Please stop!" I cried out as the distance between mother and I grew larger. I looked back to see Zorah in a wild tantrum, screaming and kicking in the guard's arms. He dropped my hair only for a second to hit Zorah in the face, knocking her unconscious. When she fell limp in his arm he quickly took hold of my hair again. "Wild animals." He spat.

I was filled with an overpowering rage, that heated me from the inside out. I needed to do something anything. I reached up above my head, to where the guard's hand clenched my hair. I started to scratch his hand. Sinking my nails deep within his flesh. He shouted in pain, but instead of releasing my hair as I would have hoped, he jerked me around like a rag doll sending me every wich way. Again I could do nothing but cry in pain. I hated being so weak.

The three of us were takin no more then twenty feet away from mother. Far enough to where she couldn't be reached, but could be seen.

The king made his way toward mother in a slow, taunting stroll. "After all I have done to provide you with a perfect life..." He said looking down at mother. "This is how you repay me Edyth? With betrayal?" He was now crouched in front of her, starring her in the eyes. "What do you have to say for yourself?" Not even 2 seconds had passed after he had asked his question that mother spat in his face. " Your a failure as a king" she said.

The king's expression turn to rage. "Guards! Bring me my sword!" He demanded. When a guard brought him his sword, the king snatched it from him and pointed it in mother's face. "I will not be made a mockery of." He said coldly. "You will die by my hand."

Mother didn't even flinch. She just starred up at him with an expressionless look. I could see the king getting angrier with her lack of fear. He raised his sword high, then brought it down on her right leg. Sending blood splintering everywhere.

The crowd cheered with joy. "Stop!" I screamed out at him, but apparently was not heard. I seemed to be the only one in despair. Valencia hadn't made a sound since she was hit by the king. She was just so blank now. She did not fight back, nor did she plead. She just watched.

When mother let out a loud cry, my focus on Valencia was cut. I was afraid to look. I couldn't bare to see mother in pain. I looked away, and as much as it pained me to look it hurt me more to look away. I heard a guard chuckle from beside me. "Does it hurt to see your mommy get sliced into little pieces ?" He jokingly asked. I didnt answer. I just stayed quiet with my eyes tightly shut. "Answer me when im talking to you girl!" He grabbed my face and turned it towards the king and mother. "Open your eyes and watched your filthy mother die." He whispered into my ear. I shook my head, and closed my eyes even tighter. "No" I whispered. He grabbed the top of my head, and with his fingers pride open my eyes. "Look! haha! Look at all that blood." He laughed. I had no choice but to look, and what I saw was sure to scar me for the rest of my life.
