The puppy had been sitting in the adoption centre for a month now and he was going to be put down. Right before they gave him the shot I burst into the room and yelled

"Stop!"

"Miss, You are not allowed here." The doctor said

"I know, but this puppy needs another chance, please," I said

"Listen no one's adopted this puppy yet, we have to put him down," I said

"I will adopt him then, he can recognize Midnight and Twilight and probably feel safe," I said

"Oh alright then, he sure is a lucky puppy." The doctor said handing him

"Lucky, that's what his name will be, thank you again, doctor," I said leaving the room

I paid for the puppy then went to the store to buy him some supplies. After I was done I brought him home, laid down his bed and a few other things, then I put down a fresh bowl of food which he ate quickly. I played with him outside a bit as well. He seemed very happy. So did mom. I wanted Lucky to meet Twilight and Midnight so I loaded him into the car and mom drove me to the barn. I stepped into Twilight's stall and put Lucky carefully on the ground. Twilight sniffed him and licked him a bit. Lucky enjoyed that and licked Twilight's muzzle. I then lifted Lucky up and took him to Midnight's stall. He seemed fine with Midnight too.

After about one hour of getting the horses used to the new puppy I tacked up Midnight and stuck Lucky in my saddle bag, then we walked along the river path letting Lucky and Midnight drink a bit. It was lunchtime after a while. I pulled out a basket of food I had brought, fed Midnight horse food, Lucky dog food and ate my sandwich. After lunch, I put Lucky back in and rode back to the barn. I gave Twilight some food and untacked Midnight. Then mom and I drove home.

Lucky slept in my bed that night. He was warm and he kept me warm all night as well. I felt that Lucky was going to be a good new addition to our family.
