As playful as the roaming colors in a sunset

The dog jumps into my arms

His coat whiter than snow

I shiver as I pet his head

The way his Hershey chocolate eyes melt my heart

His smile as innocent as a blooming rose

Holding no judgement of the world on his shoulders

As we walk through the park on that cold bitter night

The way he looks at me

Like I'm his whole world makes my soul jerk

His love running through my mind

As he rolls in the grassy patches of the path

His angelic barks weaving in and out of my ears

As his beautiful mane whisks through the breeze

Like a lion taking over his pride

As he talks to the air for no reason

This dog is my heart, my soul and my life

As I am his

Never have I seen such a precious creature

Nor will I ever meet one like him again
