"Waake uuup." Carter says in a singsong voice whilst placing a hand on my shoulder causing me to feel explosions where his hand was. "5 more minutes." I say waving him away. My hand brushed against his chest, he was shirtless.
I felt warm and cozy. "Come on Trace. We're at the lake house, there's so much to do." He said again, laying his head on my shoulder, nuzzling his chin on my shoulder blade making me squirm.
"Ohh, still ticklish I see." He said mischeviously. "No." I said as he began to tickle me. "Fiiiine, I'll get up." I said reluctantly. "Oh, and bring a bathing suit!" He called after me.
I got up and moved over to my bag and picked it up, walking over to the bathroom.
I pulled out short shorts that had black bicycles and a gray beauty and the beast shirt. I put on my bathing suit and then the clothes. I pulled out my face wash and toothpaste and toothbrush.
After cleaning my face, I applied some make up and then walked out of the bathroom. I set my bag down and saw Carter had changed into his trunks and a Dunder Mifflin shirt.
"You wearing makeup?" He asked. "What? Yeah. Why?" I said, confused as to why he would ask that. "Well," he said walking over to me and wrapping his arms around my waist, "I think, that you look, beautiful without it." He said shyly.
I felt blood rush to my face and I looked down at the floor. He lifted my chin up and kissed me. "Will you be my girlfriend?" He asks. I'm taken back.
My last boyfriend was a disaster, but Carter wouldn't be a disaster, he'd be wonderful. I bit my lip and smiled.
"Yes." I said, whispering. I leaned up and kissed him.
"No one else is up yet, you wanna walk around?" He asked. "What Tim is it?" I ask. "6:30" he said. "Ughhhh." I reply. "Yeah, let's take a walk." I say smiling.
We head out of the door and walked quietly downstairs. "Want some breakfast?" He asked quietly. I nodded my head.
He sifted through the white cupboards until ha came upon a box of cinnamon toast crunch.
We ate quickly and rinsed our bowls. We walked out the backdoor and headed towards a trail.
I have him a worried look. "Don't worry, I've hiked this trail thousands of times. " He said giving me a reassuring smile. "Oh, wait here." He said and started to jog back to the house.
A few minutes later, he returned with bottles of water and handed me one.
"Thanks." I said, ting the bottle. He nodded. We had been hiking for a few minutes when I heard a sound. Like running water. "Come on." He said, holding his hand out. I took it and followed him.
As soon as I saw it, I knew we had found the source of noise. It was a waterfall with trees overlooking it. There was a stone overlook and the water hole was clear and you could see the colorful fish underneath. It was straight out of a movie.
Carter took off his shirt and jumped in. "Come on, the water's fine." He said smiling.
I removed my shirt and shorts, revealing my pink and white bikini. I walked over to the edge and jumped in.
Great, now my makeup would run.
I swam up to the top. From the landing, you couldn't tell but it was surprisingly deep, when I jumped in, I didn't even touch the bottom.
"Amazing!" I shouted. "Yeah, I've been coming up here since I could swim. Actually, before then, I learned to swim here." He said smiling at the past memory.
I kicked my legs up and floated on my back to stare up at the cotton candy sky from the rising sun. I closed my eyes
I couldn't hear Carter, I didn't know if he was still there or not. "Carter?" I asked opening my eyes. "Yeah Trace?" He responded. Him saying my name made me feel fuzzy.
"Just making sure you're still here." I say. "Ok. Hey, you wanna jump off the overlook?" He asked, pointing to the stone that was on either side of the water fall. "Yeah." I said smiling and swimming to the edge or the water.
"I'll race ya." He said. "You're so on." I say, starting in a full on sprint. "Hey!" He shouted in a laugh and followed.
We ran up a slope and I reached the mossy overlook first. "Ha... ha..... haa." I said through gasps of air. "Ha... whatever.... I..... l.... let... you.. win." He said gasping for air.
After a few minutes of cooling down, Carter stood up. "Look at this view," he said, waving me towards him, "Gets better every time."He said smiling. "Wow." I gasped.
I looked at him. "You come up here every year?" I ask. "Yep." He replied. "Lucky." I said, looking over the waterfall. He nodded.
"Hey, you know what'dbe funny?" He asked. "No, what?" I asked. "This." He said running over to me. When I realized what he was doing, it was to late, he pushed me into the water.
I hit the water and it wasn't too bad, but I decided to get him back for that. I sucked some water into my mouth. I had stayed under the water as long as I could and I was about to go up when I heard a splash and felt arms wrap around me. I had to be careful not to smile or gasp for air.
"Damnit, Tracie? Tracie?" He asked. It took every bit of muscle to not laugh or smile.
He took me close to his chest and walked up the rocks to the landing. He laid me down on the soft moss. "Fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck." He whispered.
He started to compress my chest and count. Then he did mouth to mouth, his minty breath was intoxicating. When he gave mouth to mouth, it was harder to keep the water in my mouth. He repeated the steps. After a little bit, I figured out the pattern and the next time he lifted his face, I squeezed my lips and squirted the water out of my mouth.
I burst out laughing. "Hey!" He shouted. "That's what you get for pushing me in." I said laughing.
He moved and sat on top of me. "No." I said. "No!" His fingers darted to my sides making me squirm and laugh. "Ahh!" I screamed.
He stopped and his eyes darkened. He leaned his head towards me and kissed me. I kissed him back.
He sat up and held out his hand. I took it and he pulled me close to him. He swept me off my feet and kissed me. I hung my arms around his neck. He started to walk towards the water. He reached the end and jumped in with me in his arms. He rose up to the surface and released me but held onto my hand. We swam to towards the waterfall.
"Where are we going?" I asked. He didn't say anything, just kept on swimming. "Carter?" I asked. Nothing. He let go of my hand and swam into the waterfall. "What the?" I asked, following him. I swam through the waterfall and ran into a stone. "Ow!" I exclaimed. "Come on, give me your hand." He said, reaching for me.
His blue hair looked darker when it was soaked in water. He pulled me up onto a stone landing and I looked around. I saw an opening that was covered up by a red blanket. He led me into the cave.
There were lights strung from the walls and blankets and pillows scattered in a corner, well not a corner, the cave was rounded, an organic shape. "Wow." I said. "You sure do say wow alot." He said chuckling.
"It's all just so astonishingly beautiful." I say. "Like you." I hear him say under his breath. "What?" I ask smiling. His cheeks went red. "You.. you're beautiful." He said. "Thanks babe." I reply. He turned and gave me a cute questioning look.
"Babe?" He asks. I blush and nod. "Cool." He said quietly
