Milah's POV

I got a text from Jared in the morning telling me not to eat any breakfast, nor take a shower. He also told me to wear a loose sweatshirt and sweatpants, no makeup and just a loose bun, and that he'll pick me up at 10 in the morning. It's currently 9:50, which means he'll be here any minute.

I was downstairs sitting on the couch, unsure of what to say to my parents. My dad is at work, but the problem is that mom is still here, sitting right beside me. She's scrolling through her phone, not paying much attention to me. I told her that I wasn't feeling good, and that school probably won't work for me today. Thankfully, she listened.

I knew based on what I was wearing and how messy my hair was, she didn't think I was waiting for anyone. I usually try and make myself look as presentable as possible. I'm not sure if it's odd for a world famous celebrity, who's 45 years old, comes to your door and asks to see your 16 year old daughter.

Yeah that's strange.

I was broken from my thoughts when I heard a small knock on the door. My eyes widened, before I jumped off the couch and ran up to the door before my mom could process that someone just knocked on the door. "That's for me, I'll be back!"

"Wait - Milah!" She yelled out, before I opened the door and then slammed it shut as fast as possible. I prepared myself, before looking up to see...

A mail man.

My eyebrows furrowed as he stared at my with confused eyes, holding a small package. "This is for Nicole McConaughey." He said, scanning me up and down.

"Yeah that's my mom." I snatched the package from him, before going back inside with a frown. "You got mail."

"Are you waiting for someone?" She asks, taking the package from me and setting it on the table.

"No..." I said, looking down.

"Milah..." She said in a warning tone, crossing her arms. I let out a sigh, nodding my head. "You feel fine, don't you?"

"Yeah..." I said, rubbing my arm. "I was waiting for-"

I was cut off by another knock on the door, this time I'm sure that it's Jared. I look up at my mom for approval, and she just motions for me to open the door.

I slowly walked up to it, before swinging it open.
