CHAPTER 5: friends

Morning came calmly and quiet,
Wallace was in the same position he slept, Lucy was all over the place.
The blue Lucy like dragon came again but to wake them. Lucy woke up easily.
Wallace on the other hand, not so much.
The two were jumping on him, like he was a bed
"WAKE, UP, LAZY, BUTT!" Lucy happily repeated prior to every jump
The other one was just jumping and giving him a little push here and there.
As this is happening. The king and queen enter the room. The king was different that's for sure. He was even more beautiful than the queen. He was a scaley, horse like creature. No wings of a dragon, and no fur like a horse.
He had feathers around his face and legs. That seemed like fire. The most distinctive thing was an antler, like a unicorns horn.
He was something Lucy has never seen. A Kirin.
"He won't wake?" He asks, starting to smile at the scene.
"No sir!  He wo-" as the blue one said this Wallace roles over and lays on him "MNNMFFFF!!!!!"
Lucy and the sapphires began to laugh, Lucy to the point of wheezing.
"Well if he won't wake. We'll wait" sky said smiling "come on Lucy, would you like breakfast?"
Lucy nods as she jumps up to follow the queen.
"This is king Xavier. He's nice, so no need to fear."
"And your names Lucy?" Xavier stated "yup! Lucy of the ocean guild!" She said with a wink.
"Ahhh interesting. We have a lot of dragons from there, we even have a hippocampus!"
Lucy chuckles "what's that?"
"Eh you'll meet him eventually. He's nice. Now, let's go get some food!"
They left the room, laughing and talking.
Leaving Wallace and the blue dragon to stay there.
As Lucy walks into the dinning hall, everything on the table looks delicious, roasted ham, all the way to boiled lobster.
It was beautiful "wow! Do you guys get the fish yourselves!?"
"In a sense. Razken is a fishing dragon. He fishes. He also serves sky."
"Oooh!  So you make someone else do it, got it!"
She sits at a seat.
Xavier and Sky do as well
"A toast, to a new friend!" Sky says calmly
Xavier and Lucy raise a toast,
Lucy feels honored.
Wallace thuds down the stairs to the dining hall. Tired as all can be.
He yawns and stretches, sitting down.
"Where's Ren?"
"Who?"
"Blue dragon"
"What?"
"I- Nevermind." Lucy holds back a laugh
Wallace begins to eat, as does Sky, Xavier, and Lucy.
"So where'd you get the ham?"
"Oh,  humans. They left some things behind before they died off. Including animals. We're learning how to use the method humans did to keep animals coming, for now we just use  cloning spell's"
"Ah. Not bad" he says as he eats another slice
"Our cooks are the finest in the country. They use their own fire, and for the ice cream. They use their own ice. Its very nice. Most dragons just use a stick over fire"
"Mmn" Wallace can't talk, mouth is full.
Lucy barely ate by normal dragon standards "I'm full!"
Wallace, mouth full of ham stares "warf?" He sounds like he's trying to say what.
"Full! Hey queen sky ma'am, can I go check out the cave?'
"Go ahead"
"Come on Wallace!"
Wallace swallows his mouth full "fine. Thank you," he looks at the too and flies off, leaving a mess.
"So, our cave?"
"Yeah!  I know where it is!  I saw the cleaners fly to it!  Its over there!" She points at the highest point of the mountain, at the water fall, making Wallace smile "ahh. The best caves are the highest, "
It was behind a water fall. So no one would bother them.
"Brace yourself little one I don't wantcha dying" he than dives into the water fall, and into the cave
"It has a pool!!!" Lucy yells as she runs to  large hole filled with steaming water.
Wallace climbed what seemed to be purposely carved stairs to a sleeping area "lucy you get top-" wallace says as he lays on a less comfy, bed. There were cousins. But not silky soft like the castle, they seemed filled with grass and leaves. Still better than nothing.
Lucy jumps up "well Wallace I'm off to find work! I'll see you later! You should find work too!" With that she flew off.
Leaving Wallace alone. He tossed and turned. He couldn't get back to sleep, he got up and shook his head. Going down stairs to do as Lucy suggested. Find work. He dives down from his cave and glides to the main town.
He looks past every building. And looks for "help wanted" signs. He found nothing here. He decides to go to a different town in the area. He flies off once again. And soars past the castle.
He lands in a town not far from his cave. And looks around, he finally stops a sign. Its for a restaurant.
He grabs the sign and walks in
The person at the counter is Gamice
"H-hello kind sir - how may I help you t-today-?"
"I heard ya need help" he says, holding the sign up "o-oh yes! We do we do! We need a new cook!"
"What happened to the old cook-?"
"Uhhh- that's a topic not to be spoken of- anywho, follow me sir! I'll get you all ready for work!" Wallace follows Gamice to the kitchen, Gamice looks at him "s- so, I'll let you expirement until we get c-costumers!" Wallace nods. And Gamice walks off.
Wallace begins to cook some patties, he uses a frying method. He than finishes quickly "I did a hamburger sir!"
Gamice looks back, Wallace gives him it, Gamice tries it, and his eyes lighten up "Wowie!  Goo-good job!  I think your ready"
Wallace sighs. Its gonna be a long day for him.
Lucy on the other hand. Took the job the queen suggested. Hoarders haven is where she works. She had someone else working with her. A lung dragon, spikes made purely of ice and fur of snow her name tag read "Yuki"
"You have a pretty name!"
Lucy shouts out, yuki glances and looks back. Lucy didn't let that put her down, this is the best day of her gosh darn life!
Soon Wallaces shift was over. He walks out, he did amazingly Gamice started getting ready to go too. "Good jo-job Wallace! I-I think the customers will lo-l-love you!" Wallace nods, "well I gotta go pick up my friend by the castle. Idiot can't fly through the water fall without dying."
Gamice smiles slight "I have to go too, I'm going to the sapphire m-mar-market to buy something. From Hoarders Haven, so I'll see ya tomo- tomorrow!" With that Gamice was off, Wallace following. Gamice dives immediately towards the ground. And spreads his wings upon landing to make it safe. Lucy was almost done with her shift, she promised herself a few more costomers than out she goes. Gamice walks in
"OH HEY HEY HEY I KNOW YOU!" Lucy shouts
Gamice smiles "oh he-hello Lucy!" He walks to her "your my last customer!"
Gamice smiles "that's good I suppose"
He than pads off to look at things for sale, he grabs a saxophone. And a fork
He puts them on the counter, saxophone is 40 quartz, the fork 5.
"That'll be 45 quartz!"
Gamice pays, and pads out. Lucy now following wallace was waiting for her "come on pea brain. Let's go home- and let's go to bed."
She climbed onto Gamice "what?"
Wallace face palmed "let's. Go. Home."
"Oooh right right! Let's do that!"
She jumps off and climbs wallace. Gamice waves goodbye and he flies off.
Wallace doing so as well.
He flew to his cave and plopped in bed when inside "uuggghhghghhh-"
Lucy was messing with the pool again.
"That was HORRIBLE"
Lucy was the opposite, her day was great.
Wallace finally felt tired enough to sleep.
Than out of the blue,
Alarms sounded.
