One shot to celebrate Sope for valentine's day (I hope it's not too late) <3

___

"Good morning Yoongi!" A happy Namjoon greeted as Yoongi walked in through the doors, the cold February breeze filling the shelter before the door came to a close and a sleepy man with tangled hair and a small smile looked towards his younger, "Mornin' Joon, any cat calls today?"

The younger laughed, before following Yoongi into the back room filled with an orchestra of meows, "You know, we should really invest in some cages."

Namjoon shook his head, "Let them live man, how would you like being cooped up in a cage until someone decides to take you home?" the older just gave him a look as he began to fill the bowls in the middle of the room with food, "But no cat calls today, it's the middle of winter so I highly doubt we'll be finding many missing fur balls."

Yoongi smiled, gently petting the animals as they rubbed up against his legs with a melody of purrs, "Good. We have a hard enough time trying to find homes for these little guys." Standing up, a triumphant smile on his face, "No calls means it'll be an easy day today than!"

"Ah, not so fast there boy. Today's the fourteenth you know what that means right?"

Yoongi rolled his eyes, "Oh my god Namjoon don't be gay on valentine's day."

This earned him a laugh from the younger as Namjoon bent down to pet his favorite black cat, "Too late, I'm going on a date with Jin. So that means I've got to leave the shelter to you today. And we have a visitor coming in too."

Yoongi's eyes furrowed in question, "A visitor? I thought you said we didn't get any calls?"

Namjoon sighed, "I told you about it a couple days ago, there's a special needs teacher at the preschool down the street from us, he's bringing a couple kids to play and help take care of the cats."

The older man's eyes grew twice as big, "Namjoon I swear to everything on this earth if you leave me alone with a room full of cats and kids I will murder you."

A playful smirk rested on Namjoons features as he stood up again, "You got this hyung, just don't burn the place down."

Yoongi let out an aggravated huff as he slid down to the floor, letting a little black and white cat curl up in his lap, "No promises."

Namjoon smiled, before exciting through the door, "Happy valentine's day Yoongi, it might not be so bad!"

___

And maybe it wouldn't have been so bad, Yoongi thought, if he didn't see the school bus that stopped right in front of the shelter and the herd of children pouring out of the vehicle.

Yoongi sighed, thinking of all the ways he could get back at Namjoon for leaving him alone through this until,

Until he saw the boy who was the last to jump off the bus, a boy around his age with the life of hundreds of burning stars in his shining eyes alone. Yoongi couldn't help but to feel like his heart was blooming when he saw the bright heart that the boys smile held.

Yoongi didn't even realize he was smiling too until the boy, who he presumed was the teacher, opened the door, leading a pack of small children with him, "Hello there! Are you Kim Namjoon? The one I talked to on the phone?"

Immediately brought back from his trance Yoongi answered, "Ah-no sorry, I'm Min Yoongi. You're the special needs teacher right? From the preschool?"

Yoongi couldn't help but to feel slightly idiotic as he asked, about ten children below his knee clinging to the man who had just been dropped off by a yellow school bus, but nevertheless the boy smiled, "That's me! Jung Hoseok, it's a pleasure to meet you Yoongi." He extended his arm for Yoongi, "You have no idea how excited the kids are, they've been talking about this all week!"
