Hoseok found himself smiling, his cheeks hurting in the best kind of way as dinner carried on around him. His six best friends, well, no. More like, his six other halves. Yeah, that's more accurate, were sitting around him and laughing, Jungkook flinging something green at Seokjin who tried to catch it in his mouth. Jimin was practically in Namjoon's lap, clutching his sides from laughing so hard as Taehyung, sitting beside Hoseok, proceeded in creating sound effects for the whole ordeal.

It was late at night, and usually after a concert, especially after a dome concert in Japan, the boys would find refuge in their hotel rooms to eat and quickly fall to their beds. And for a moment, Hoseok gnawed dully on a string of guilt, for being the reason that took a bit of rest away from their already hectic lives.

As if sensing the change underneath Hoseok's always bright smile, Yoongi, sitting to his other side, nudged his shoulder. When Hoseok turned his head in question he was met with dark, cat-like eyes and ssambap pressed to his lips. Giggling he quickly accepted the food offering and smiled towards Yoongi who lowered his chopsticks and smiled back, softly.

"You know," Taehyung started, loud enough to gain the attention of the whole congregation, "Legend says whoever you spend your 25th birthday with will end up being your best friends for life."

"Unless they rob a bank." Jungkook pointed out quite matter-of-factly.

Taehyung nodded, echoing, "Unless they rob a bank."

The rest of the boys erupted into laughter save for Namjoon who just groaned in frustration. Hoseok rustled Taehyung's hair, "Now who told you that?"

"Wait hyung, I thought the legend said it was whoever you spend your 25th birthday with ended up being your soulmate?" Jungkook asked with a big smirk and questioning eyes. "Does that mean we're all each other's soulmates?

"Oh you're right!" The realization dawning in Taehyung's eyes, the boy was about to continue when Namjoon cut him off, "No, he wanted to do something fun for Hobi's birthday but didn't want it to be too cheesy so I sent him this article called '17 BS Facts About Birthdays That Everyone Thinks Are True' and he took it as bible but missed the BS part completely."

"Well that's better than the book I was reading." Seokjin started as their laughter died down.

Hoseok raised his brows, "What book?"

"Can birthday's actually give you better hair." Seokjin replied deadpan, ensuring another round of giggles from the table.

"Well?" Jimin asked, clearly interested by the contents, "Does it?"

Seokjin smirked, taking a sip of soju before answering, "Short answer, no. Long answer, kinda. For you? In this economy? No."

Jimin waved him off with a giggle, "Wild." Before commanding, "Kookie, attack!" and just like that the sequel to, 'what can Seokjin catch in his mouth feat. Jungkook' began.

Hoseok giggled and smiled at their childish yet hilarious antics, he knew he was being quieter than usual today. Most days, when it was just the seven of them Hoseok was a much calmer version of himself, less focused on entertaining, more focused on just, well, being. But today, he knew he was being extra reserved even for the members. If any of them asked, or noticed, he was ready with the excuse that he was just tired. However, he also knew that one member could see through his facade better than any other, and Yoongi would know. Would worry, probably corner him later that night and question him with eyes he would never be able to lie to.

He sighed, closing his eyes as he listened, focused on, the melody of laughter that the six of them would create. It was the best sound, the only sound that he wished he could replay forever, better than any and all concerts put together. It was moments on stage that made the hardships worth it, the sleepless nights and sore muscles for days.

But it was moments like this, when he opened his eyes and found six smiles to match the laughter, the good, the bad, the cloudy days and the sun through the rain, the tears shared and the tears not, that made everything, worth it.

Hoseok felt Yoongi's hand gently comb through his hair, breaking the boy from his trance as he realized, the soft smiles matching even softer eyes as they looked towards him. Taehyung moving to rest his hand comfortingly atop Hoseok's wrist, "Hyung, you've been really quiet, but it's your birthday. Is everything okay?"

Hoseok met Taehyung's eyes, then Jimin's, Namjoon's, Seokjin's, Jungkook's, and then stopped when he reached Yoongi's gaze, the elder's hand resting softly at Hoseok's nape. He decided to go with the truth, "I'm just, really happy." Hoseok breathed, quietly, yet somehow louder in the private room of a restaurant filled only with the people he loved the most. Hoseok smiled softly, a smile that couldn't let up even when he spoke, turning to face his six brothers, "I'm just happy to be able to spend my birthday with the people I love the most." He giggled, "With my soulmates."

He was expecting laughter at that, but instead he received warm smiles and even warmer eyes gazing towards him. Namjoon was the first to break the quiet moment, raising his glass, "To our soulmate, Hobi."

The rest followed suit, raising their own glasses as Jungkook practically yelled, "Happy birthday to our Hope hyung!"

Seokjin smiled, "To the brightest dongsaeng."

Jimin clinking their glasses together, "To the best roommate and dancing legend."

Hoseok couldn't stop the tears from swelling in his eyes even if he wanted to, sniffing before showcasing his brightest heart-shaped smile, raising his glass even higher, "To my Bangtan soulmates, I love you."

Before drinking the toast, Yoongi leaned closer, the hand resting against his nape coming around so that his arm held Hoseok's shoulders before announcing in a warm voice, "And we love you too, sunshine." A smile, "Happy birthday."

Hoseok let himself fall into the warmth and the laughter of his friends, talking and drinking as he realized that this was all he could ask for. Moments like these are all he needed. He smiled, towards his best friends, the best birthday present he could have ever received.
