Chapter Nineteen.

Rio

Leaving the hospital I passed up Rari. He looked worried about something. We made eye contact and stared one another down. He bumped me in the process and said "watch where the fuck I was going". I kept quiet and laughed brushing off his comment. Only because at the end of the day little did he know I was gone get the last laugh.

When I got back to the hospital with the food Terra looked like she had been crying. I gave the pizza box to Daris. "Here you go lil dude" I said. "Thanks Rio" he said. I walked over to Terra. I had an idea on what went down but I didn't really know for sure. I took my jacket off and shoes and climbed up in the hospital bed with her. She wrapped her arms around me and cuddled close. I felt my shirt getting wet so I knew she was crying. I wasn't gone ask but damn. "Want to talk about it" I asked. "It's over Rio" she said looking up at me. "Don't let that nigga get the best of you ma" I said wiping her tears. "You too beautiful for that" I said trying to cheer her up. "He was my first love he was my first everything Rio" she said crying. "I understand but baby everything happen for a reason you gone be straight because I got you and whatever you want to do I'm stand by your side regardless" I said. Terra knew I been in love with her since the day I met her. My feelings ain't changed and they ain't gone never change for her. "Thank you Rio I really appreciate everything you have done for me" she said. "No need to thank me" I said to her.

I laid up in the bed with her until she fell asleep. I checked my phone and seen I had a missed call from Nikki. I sent her a text. Busy wassup? I was about to put my phone in my pocket till I felt it vibrate. We need to talk hit me up when your not busy. The text said. I wanted to ask why she couldn't tell me now but honestly I could care less. I just hope she wasn't pregnant or some shit because we ain't use a condom. I eased out the bed and woke up Daris. "Aye lets come back in the morning I know this chair hurting yo back lil man" I said. "Okay Rio but we have to be here bright and early" Daris said. I smiled. I liked how he cared so much about his moma. It reminded me of myself when I was a young. I was always a moma boy. "I promise" I said.

On the way back to my house Daris fell asleep in the back seat. I seen blue lights flashing behind me. "Really" I said pulling over to the side of the rode. I pulled out my license and rolled down my window. I seen a woman figure walking towards the car with a flashlight. "Hi how you doing sir" she said. "I'm good" I said. She flashed the light around the car and seen Daris in the back sleeping. "Can I see your ID and registration" she said. I nodded and handed it too her. She didn't even bother to look at my registration just my ID. "thank you for your time you can go" she said. "Why did you pull me over" I asked in suspicion. "I thought you was someone else" she said with a smile. I flashed her a fake smile. "Oh okay" I said taking a good look at her. It was something about her that made me feel funny. I didn't know why but it did.

When I got back to the house I carried Daris in the house and placed him on the couch. I walked up the steps and smelled weed. "Open a window" I said to Monte. "How is my moms" Riya said. "She good and your brother down stairs sleep" I said closing the door. I walked in my room and closed my door behind me stripping out my clothes. I grabbed the envelope and climbed in bed. I debated on if I wanted to open it or wait. It was a DNA test. I wanted to tell Terra but I knew she would be pissed off. Probably not about the truth, but on how I managed to do what I did. I swabbed Daris when he was sleep and then swabbed myself. I paid the Doctor who was taking care of Terra he didn't want to do it at first until I gave him a thousand dollars in his hands. I never had any doubts on Daris. I fucked her the night before her wedding, and I'm pretty sure Rari fucked on their anniversary. I knew it could of been one of ours, but when I look at Riya she look just like that nigga and Daris look like Terra. Then again he has some of my features. Another thing I noticed was that he wasn't as dark as Riya and Rari. "Fuck it" I said peeling open the envelope. I unfolded the paper and started to read.

"99.9999 percent" I said under my breath.

Daris was my son.

My only problem is. .

How am I going to tell Terra about this shit.

This can probably ruin a good thing we have. I can either be a man and own up to what I did and tell her or keep it a secret because she already going through something. I didn't know what to do. I know how I am when it comes to Terra I don't even think I'll be able to deal with myself from keeping some like this away from her.

I just don't want to loose her.
