I pulled up at Jungkook's house, police cars and ambulances parked along the street. Turning off the car engine, I spotted Mrs Jeon close to the police barricade. I headed over to her immediately. I embraced her tightly, her cheeks streaked with tears. I couldn't bring myself to cry. I was in a state of shock. I was hoping that I'd just wake up, that this was all some strange nightmare.
"They won't tell me what's happening. Why won't they tell me what's happening?" She sobbed, her hands shaking. I moved myself forward, catching the attention of one of the policemen who were maintaining the barricade.
"Excuse me! Hello! Excuse me!" I finally caught his attention. He turned to look at me, sternly. "I live here. You can either let me through or tell me what's going on." The policeman turned to his colleague but I was getting mighty impatient. Taking the opportunity, I slipped beneath the tape and made a dash up to the house. Either the police were distracted or I was just insanely fast for a pregnant lady, but I managed to outrun them, dashing into the house before they had a chance to catch up to me.
I managed to get through the door and into the house before the policeman eventually caught up to me. A detective was examining the wall. He turned around, looking unimpressed.
"You were told to secure the perimeter! What's going on here?!" The detective barked at the policeman as my eyes flickered around the room.
Where was Jungkook? Was that blood?
"One minute she was there and the next she'd just taken off. I couldn't catch up to her -" The policeman started but the detective cut over him, angrily.
"She's about 7 months pregnant! How fast can she run?!" I turned to answer them, the questions I wanted the answers to were on the very tip of my tongue.
"Actually, it's more like 6 months." Jungkook smiled weakly at me as he entered the room. "Also, I'd appreciate if you didn't raise your voices about her."
My heart jumped into my chest as soon as I laid eyes on him. I rushed towards him, nearly knocking him off his feet as I let the tears finally fall. He winced as I held him before me. His shoulder was tightly bandaged up.
"What on earth happened, Jungkook?" I breathed.
"I'd very much like to know that as well. I have a few questions for you, Mr Jeon. If you'd like to step out of the room for a moment, Miss - uh -" The detective trailed off. Jungkook's hand tightened around my own as he held onto me protectively.
"Y/N stays." Jungkook said simply. The detective nodded his head as he indicated for the pair of us to take a seat. I fidgeted, holding Jungkook's hand.
"Can someone please tell Mrs Jeon that Jungkook is okay?" I asked before he started.
"I'll send one of the officers out to speak with her. Now, Mr Jeon, in your own words can you tell me what happened here tonight?" The detective asked. Jungkook looked at me sadly, squeezing my hand.
