"We should ride the merry go round!" Gavin gasped as he pointed to the vintage machine with beautiful horses and other animals."Okay let's do it!" I responded.
Truth be told I was hesitant to ride because were seventeen years old. But I soon saw other teens riding as we waited in the line to ride.
Finally, it was our turn to ride. I picked a horse with flowers in it mane, and it had brown hair.
Gavin went with the tiger next to it. We laughed and giggled.Gavin kept making animal noises, which made the whole situation more hilarious. I soon forgot that people could've been watching, cause I was happy. He was making me happy.
Then we walked to watch one of the clown shows near the edge of the park. It was kind of lame and we sat there making fun of the costumes and the jokes they told.
Gavin leaned over a said "Hey Nora we should ditch this lame show, maybe ride the Ferris wheel?"
I grinned and nodded yes. We left and walked down over to the giant light up wheel. It was quite beautiful actually. The line was long but we decided to wait it out.
While we waited I thought about telling him about everything that happened. Maybe about the fact that I had been hit by my father and mother that night. But that was just this night, I had always played it off when we were younger as I fell or I just didn't know how I got that bruise.
I didn't want to feel embarrassed around him if he knew what happened. My arms bared bruises same for part of my legs. They already knew better to hit my face.
Maybe I wanted to tell him that night Luke got worse that night, we got the news when the hospital called. They told us Luke had a seizure and they put him in a clinically induced coma. They said he'd have a small chance of survival at this rate. My parents just drank and drank.
But I think I should wait to tell him. Wait until this fun is over, over so I don't ruin it.
We got up to the Ferris wheel, as we stepped in the thing creaked and wobbled. I sat next to him starring as we went up and up till we stopped at the top."It's gorgeous, and man that's a lot of people. Hey! Gavin look at all the lights." I exclaimed as I stared below us.
"Yeah but not as beautiful as you!" He said putting his hands up in a gun shape pointed at me, as he laughed.
"Haha that's a good one. You said I was a dork, but I think we both know how the real dork is."
I said in a snarky voice.I wish he was serious though. I thought about if us could ever be a thing as we went down and had to get out of our booth. We walked for I little bit than Gavin proposed the idea of food. I said I was a bit hungry and could maybe go for something.
We looked around until we saw a place selling ice cream. I got mint chocolate chip and Gavin got chocolate fudge. We found a table after intense searching. We sat there and ate ice cream for a good 45 minutes until I finished my cone. I had ice cream going down my hands.
"Hey I'm going to go wash my hands in that bathroom over there, I'll be right back." I stated as I started backing away.
He nodded, and I rushed to the bathroom so it wouldn't get any worse. I decided it wouldn't hurt if I used the bathroom.Washing my hands for the second time then I exited. I stared over to where we were sitting, I saw what appeared to be two young girls standing over Gavin. I was confused, and flustered maybe a bit annoyed.
Why were they standing over my Gavin? Are they asking him out or something? Are they trying to hit on him. Ugh I was getting more upset, I decided to calm myself down before walking over there. But all I ended up doing is considering that I'd never be good enough, for someone like Gavin. He'd deserve someone of the same status like him, someone more pretty.
After five or so minutes I forced myself over there.
The girls pierced me as I walked up to the table. They looked at me as though I was trash, and gave me a nasty look.
"Hey Gav Gav who is this? She's your little sister right?" The girls with blond hair asked him trying to be flirtatious.
"Yeah, who is she? Your mom didn't leave to babysit cause that'd be boring if we'd have to watch her as we walk through festival." The other girl stated glaring at me as she pity laughed.
"Chill out she's my best friend, we came together her name is Lenora. Lenora this is Katelyn" He said pointing to the blond "And this is Nikki" he said pointing to the brown haired chick. "We has some classes together last semester at school." Gavin explained.
"Also I need to use the bathroom. You guys can get to know each other and hold down the fort, yeah?"
The girls nodded smiling and waving at him as he walked off. Then they turned to me as they saw him walk into the bathroom. They looked angry.
"You better not try anything. He's ours but it's not like he'd choose you over us, I mean you look like absolute trash. Don't get in our way or we'll make sure you can't." Katelyn said grabbing my arm.
Ouch that hurts. She's grabbing my bruise. I yanked my arm away.
"Honestly I'm not even sure why that gorgeous hunk is hanging out with that." She said pointing at me looking over at Nikki who was laughing.
I stood there almost about to cry when Nikki whispers over to Katelyn that Gavin is coming back from the bathroom.
She looked at me and said "Hands off w****."
He had came back from what seemed like forever. But now my fun had come to an end, like it always does. All I wanted to do was leave. I hated seen Katelyn and Nikki flaunt over Gavin. He only asked me small questions after that, only because Katelyn and Nikki wouldn't let him.
I couldn't take it. So when we got in line for a small coaster ride. I told Gavin I had a stomach ache and would sit this one out. But I wasn't sitting this one out, I was going to watch the concerts that were happening. Maybe Gavin would stop and look for me. Or maybe he'd be happy with just Katelyn and Nikki, he'd rather stay with them.
They're so pretty. They were right I'm nothing special. He'd never fall for someone like me, I'd never be that way for him. I walked away thinking about everything that was wrong with me. I thought, Lenora you're so pathetic, man you thought he could even like you. So stupid. You're so stupid. But deep down I knew everything I said would be wrong.
