The author is in an enclosed red room under a blinding, yellow light. She breathes heavily as sweat pours down her face, holding a broom in one hand and a frying pan in the other. She has many wounds covering her body which is wrapped up in dirty bandages. She looks forward and freezes when she sees the reader staring at her. She gulps thickly.
"Hey, um... Wow, I wasn't expecting company," she chuckles nervously, scratching the back of her head.
Her eyes widened, a plot hole sinking into the ground. She quickly pulls a rug over it, hoping the reader didn't see she was covering many plot holes under rugs.
"A-Anyways," she twitched, "I realize I have been gone a long time and there is no excuse for that--"
She is cut off as water begins to pour into the room from a hole in the wall. She quickly grabs 'editors cotton' and stuffs it into the hole, blocking the grammar and spelling mistakes from entering.
"Obviously, I have realized the many mistakes from this story," she smiled as she pushes the box of forgotten character explanations under a chair. "But I am planning on going back and fixing it once I'm finished. I've decided I will end this series just before the Originals is supposed to start so I can start on other projects and maybe continue this one later on in the future."
The doorbell rings and the author goes to answer it. There stands a copy of Damon Salvatore with a sign on his chest that read 'Midnight's True Mate'.
"So, um, hi. I am still here," the idea waved awkwardly.
The author groaned in annoyance, pulling a lever beside the door, opening a shoot under the copy and sending him to the trash heap. She turns back to the audience.
"Anyways, I hope you enjoy what is left of the story, and I hope this chapter clears up any confusion you have. LOVE YAL!!!"
Suddenly, all the walls collapse behind her and everything wrong seeps in. She stares at the reader fearfully.
"Help."

Chapter 12: Ghost World Part 2
"Nataline."
Nataline smiled softly, giving a small wave.
"Hey, Midnight. We have a lot to talk about."
Midnight scoffed, crossing her arms over her chest. "Yeah, like, how in the hell are you here? You're dead."
Nataline gave the same scoffed. "Like you're one to talk."
Midnight shrugged, pursing her lips. "Touche."
Nataline sighed, "Look, I can explain everything to you, but first we need to get out of the public eye. People are staring at us like we're the plague."
Midnight glanced around and noticed that they were indeed getting strange looks from people. I mean, they probably thought it was herself and Elena, but Elena didn't exactly dress the way they did.
"All right, come on. We'll head to my place," Midnight nodded, turning and walking off to her car, Nataline following right behind her.

"Okay, so I can guess that Bonnie has something to do with you being here?" Midnight guessed as she brought some coffee over for them both in the living room.
Nataline smiled kindly. "Thank you, you don't know how much I missed coffee. And yes, when she brought your brother back from the dead, she accidentally left the door between worlds ajar, letting a very powerful, very old witch on the other side to swing it open completely. So, Bonnie used a spell to bring it down completely while she tried to fix it with her Grandmother."
