Chapter 3: Chicago

"Welcome back to Chicago, Stefan," Klaus stated as they rolled into a car garage that night, Mid fidgeting in the backseat. They all exited the vehicle and Klaus opened a large door to reveal the large lit up city of Chicago.

"Not that I didn't always dream of coming here, but, uh, why are we here?" Mid asked as she looked out at the city with her arms crossed over her chest, ready for answers.

"I know how much you loved it here," Klaus said to Stefan, "Bringing back memories of the good old ripper days."

"Blacked out most of them," Stefan admitted as he watched a large truck drive towards them, "A lot of blood, a lot of partying. The details- are all a blur."

Klaus smirked, "Well, that's is a crying shame. The details are what makes it legend."

"Word was the Ripper of Monterrey got lonely, so he escaped to the city for comfort. It was prohibition. Everything was off limits then, which made everything so much fun."

Stefan walked into Gloria's bar, in which the owner was performing on stage as everyone was drinking and chatting amongst themselves. Stefan had just finished his date, and was looking for his next meal when Gloria spotted him.

"Guess who my eyes have just spied, ladies?" she called into the mic teasingly, "Looking for a good time, Mr. Salvatore?"

"Save me a dance, Gloria," he winked as he walked down the stairs to the dance floor.

He reached for a glass of gin, but a black gloved hand beat him to it. He turned to be met with a brunette walking away with the glass.

"Oh, please. Help yourself," he smirked at her, his eyes running down her slender figure. When she turned, his eyes couldn't believe who he was seeing.

"Oh, I always do," the woman giggled seductively.

Stefan's eyes widened.

"Nataline," he gasped.

The woman looked at him confused, "I'm sorry, I'm afraid you have the wrong person. But, I would be careful," she leaned towards him and licked the corner of his lips, taking a bit of blood off of it, "You're still wearing your date. She's lovely."

She winked at him, her eyes glowing a distinct silver, a skill Nataline couldn't do, and turned to walk away.

Stefan was rather interested in this look alike.

"No, no, no," Stefan chuckled as he stopped her before she could leave and grabbed her arm, turning her to face him, "Who are you, than?"

She gave him a dark red smile, before she put a finger to her lips in a 'shush' motion, then left with the sway of her hips.

"Chicago was magical," Klaus stated to the two staring at the city. Stefan nodded as he turned back to them.
