it was cold, and everyone in view were wearing fleas coats. my parka was thick, hugging my sweater. lisa was talking to me about something obscene. i held my books to my chest as we were walking towards the doors of the school. i turned to the right, corey normally stood there, with his friends and lala, leaning against his truck. and there he was, i smiled to myself. i still remember the scent of his sweater. he turned his head, our eyes met. my world as i knew it stopped when he smiled at me. his pearly teeth shining in the full sun. the scent of rain on concrete invaded my senses. he waved slightly, his varsity jacket hugging him in all the right ways. i smiled back and quickly turned back to whatever lisa had said, i forced the situation out of my head. it's probably for the best, i'm probably just a girl that he happened to bump into, that's all i was, that's all i ever will be.
