m a r g o t"i think i ate a bug!"
i laughed.
"cool!"
i responded.
lisa had the greatest idea that we should bike to school and she was already dreading it.
"this was your idea!" i screamed through the wind.
we placed our bikes in the metal ports and entered the school.
lisa was sucking river's face in the unisex bathroom, so me, not wanting to be a third wheel, decided to stalk around in the library.
there were only a couple students in the library so the building was quiet, but warm and radiant with activity. the librarian, who's about as dusty as the bookshelf's around me was in the literary section. i quietly walked past the hunchbacked woman and went up the stairs, to my little bay window. it was a spot in the corner of the library that i enjoyed to read in.
my backpack slumped off my shoulder and landed on the ground with a 'thud'.
i grabbed 'romeo & juliet' and began reading. about half way through the book with 15 minutes left on the clock for lunch someone walked into the aisle i was situated at.
they were coming through the books finally grabbing on, about to leave before they saw me. approaching my reading figure they spoke; "margot?"- it was corey.
i looked up, astonished, i didn't think that popular people hung out in the library. i placed my book next to me and sat up. I was beyond nervous.
"what are you doing here?" i asked almost in a whisper. "gotta test i gotta study for" he said.
"oh." i said lowly. "so, uh you going to ayssa's party?". "alyssa?" i asked.
"yeah, you know alyssa milano, goes here?" left eyebrow raised.
"oh, i'm not sure she would like me to come" alyssa was about the most beautiful girl at ridgemont high, and also corey's long lost middle school ex.
"sure she would" he chuckled.
"you should come" he said, the bell rang. "well...".
he tapped on the book with his fingers "i'll expect to see you there" he laughed walking backwards, like he did at the drive through. he bumped into the bookshelf and a book fell.
"you didn't see that" he whispered before walking away chuckling.
i smiled to myself and put my book away.
