Q) How did it feel making Emmaline and Denver a "couple"?

A) I wouldn't really say they were a couple, more of a romantic interest. Emmaline wasn't looking for romance, let alone friends for that matter, she just wanted to trick Denver into taking her to the Village. ((and if I spoiled it for you, shame on you for skipping ahead.))

Q) Did you always plan on killing Reuben off?

A) Actually yes. I thought it would be very surprising to lead you on to the fact that it would either be Denver or Max to die, but actually it would be Reuben. He was a lot of fun to write too, which made it hard to kill him off. But I'm happy with my result.

Q) How old are you?

A) It may be very hard to believe, but I am 14.

Q) Whoa... Emmaline?

A) Yeah... I thought that making Emmaline evil would be like: BOOM! PLOT TWIST! and i really hope it was surprising, because one of my favorite things to read in stories are plot twists. but yes, Emmaline is evil. I had come up with the idea of making her evil when I started thinking of her back-story. She was banished from her house and forced to live alone, so she wanted to rule the Village.

Q) Are your characters based off of anyone you know in real life/books?

A) I got the idea of Max from two different books: Percy Jackson and Maximum Ride. A smart, kick-butt heroine.

Denver was a little harder to think of. Did I want him to be cool and athletic? Or nerdy and bossy? I decided to kind of combine them both.

Q) Who was your favorite character?

A) That's like asking which child is your favorite, they all are. But if I had to choose one favorite, it would probably be Reuben. He was so much fun to write.

Q) Are you planning on making a sequel?

A) I was thinking about it, picking up where I last left off, but I'm not sure. I'm currently writing another story, You're My Best Friend so in the mean time you can read that. c:

Q) How long did it take you to write Fire and Ice?

A) 7 and a half months.

Q) Is this your first story you've ever written?

A) I've written plenty of other crappy stories, but they are far too terrible to even be posted on here. So yeah, this is my first story.

Q) Were you threatend by fan girls for killing of Reuben?

A) Well... my best friend refused to talk to me for a week if that's what you mean...
