Cormac stood shaking near the back of the library, his book trolley forgotten next to him. Never had he felt such fear as the fear he felt when he looked upon that creature. The creature that did not seem to be able to pull its gaze away from little Lilly.

Cormac as usual had been happily pushing his trolley and sorting his books just the way he had when he was alive. He had loved the library then and still did now the only difference being was that now he got a bit lonely. Not many people noticed or stopped to have a chat with Cormac the friendly ghost, so upon seeing not only the seer, but also the lovely Mary whom he had not seen for many a year he eagerly made his way toward the front of the library.

As he passed the lady that always sat in the old leather wing backed chair,he thought he heard a struggle and glanced over to find the cause.

Cormac squinted slightly, pulled his glasses to the bridge of his nose then pushed them back up. He repeated this several times before removing his glasses retrieving his old dusting rag from his back pocket and proceeded to give his glasses a good polish.

They must have been misted, he thought, choosing not to believe what he had just saw, aye that is it misted, he repeated before returning his rag to his pocket and sliding his glasses back onto the bridge of his nose.

Nope not misted, the figure was still there still wavering in and out of sight suddenly becoming solid enough for Cormac to truly see. Cormac froze, knew if his heart still beat it would be deafening. Reaching behind with shaking fingers he felt for a book shelf and quietly tiptoed behind gently pulling his trolley with him to help conceal his hiding place before he was noticed and the creature descended tearing him limb from limb.

He wasn't to sure if a ghost could be torn limb from limb but was not willing to find out. That creature looked capable of anything, but Cormac need not have bothered worrying the creature was completely fixated on little Lilly. Cormac didn't think the creature would have noticed if he had stood right in front of it and done a little dance and that thought was starting to scare Cormac more and more.

Where as he was not to sure if he himself could be torn limb from limb, he knew damn well that Lilly could be.

Mary was giggling like a school girl, something which she had not done in such a long time. After all the time she had spent so lost and alone she finally felt as though she was nearing the end, nearing her light, her Bethy.

Mary knew with such certainty that it was only a matter of time now before she was reunited with her daughter. She had complete faith in the man by her side, reaching over she laced her fingers with his, he felt so warm, so safe, her safe haven.

Warmth bloomed in her chest as she watch Samuel scan the library looking for Cormac, calling his name in hushed tones so as not to startle the poor librarian again.

The warmth spread as she watched him, yes this man would save them both she was so sure of that, but as she had that thought another realization came to her.

Yes, he would save them both, but then, then she would have to leave him they were no longer from the same worlds. No matter how strong a seer he was there was no power that could return the living from the dead and even if there was she knew she would choose Bethy every time.

The warmth started to fade as she withdrew her hand from his, Samuel tightened his grip giving her a confused look that tore at her heart, lacing her fingers back with his she promised herself next time, next time she would be stronger.

Samuel felt the exact moment that Mary had came to the same realization he had already come to. Being a seer did have some perks, he was starting to come round to the idea of being a seer, bit hard not to when your kissing a ghost in the middle of a public library. That thought made warmth once again spread to Samuel's cheeks, that poor librarian must have thought he was one strange character.
