Frank and I went out to buy the supplies that we needed. We got rope, gloves, and we traveled about 2 hours to get to Pennsylvania. Silencers are illegal in New Jersey, so we had to go across state lines to buy one.
"Hey, Frank?" I asked, breaking the peaceful silence that we had been sitting in. "What do we do with our phones? The police will be able to track them."
"That's obvious. We destroy them," He shrugged.
"But, I'll never be able to talk to Mikey or my mom again," I whined.
"I know, babe. It just... it has to be that way." He took one of my hands off of the steering wheel and intertwined his fingers with mine.
"Can we go have dinner with them one last time?" I asked. "Like, before we do it. I just want to be able to say goodbye to them, you know?"
"Of course we can," He smiled. "Do you want me to go with you?"
"Obviously," I laughed.
"Okay. Call them and make the plans. Wait, do they even know that we're back together?"
"Fuck."
"I'll take that as a no..."
"Man, the last my mother heard was that you sent me a letter. Mikey doesn't know anything. That's gonna be awkward..."
"Is Mikey angry with me at all?"
"Mmmm, eh?"
"Is that a yes?"
"That's a 'Mikey is very protective of me and he knows that it hurt a lot when you left but he also just wants me to be happy so I am really not sure how he will react'."
"How's Mikey doing, by the way?"
"He's still living with my mom for a little while. He got a job, so he's just saving up to move out. The last I heard, he wasn't planning on going to college. He started a band that's actually pretty good. I should let you listen to some of their stuff. I think the band's name is Electric Century?"
"Damn, that sounds cool as fuck. Has he been doing well emotionally?"
"Yeah. Last I heard, he was doing great. You know that he and Ray are dating, right?"
"WHAT?"
"Yeah," I laughed. "Mikey's had a crush on him since freshman year of high school. It's honestly really adorable."
"That's awesome. I'm glad to hear he's doing so well."
We drove in silence, save for the Nirvana and David Bowie albums that played from the stereo, for another hour. Frank's hand held mine the entire time.
Once we pulled into the parking spot in front of Frank's apartment building, I leaned over and kissed him before we both climbed out.
"I'm going to call Mikey once we get inside," I informed Frank.
"Put it on speaker phone and I won't say anything."
We got inside and I did just that. The phone rang 3 times before he picked up.
"Gee?" Mikey answered.
"Hey, is now a good time?" I asked.
"Yeah, I just got home from work. What's up?"
"I have to tell you something."
"Is everything alright?"
"Yeah, things are great, actually," I smiled at Frank as I talked.
"That's good to hear. So what do you have to tell me?" I could hear him quietly slurping a drink. Coffee, probably.
"Frank and I began talking again."
Mikey choked and coughed for a good 8 seconds before regaining his composure. "I- I beg your pardon?"
It took everything Frank and I had to not burst out into laughter. "Frank sent me a letter recently, asking me on a date, and, uh, we're, um, dating again?"
"I'm honestly surprised that Frank is even alive. Is he doing alright?"
"Yeah, he's actually doing really well. He moved away from his mom and he got a shit ton of tattoos and he's so much more confident and he just seems so happy now. He has a twinkle in his eye that I've never seen before."
"I'm think I'm gonna be sick," Mikey joked.
"You made me sit through an entire DATE with you and Ray. I get to gush a little bit about Frank. It's only fair."
"Is Frank there?"
"Yeah, why?"
"Remember when you shoved Pete into a wall and told him never to hurt me again?"
"Of course I do. That was the most badass day of my life," I chuckled.
"I'm gonna do that to Frank real quick. And don't you dare say that I'm not allowed to, because you scared Pete shitless."
I sighed. "Fine." I signaled for Frank to talk.
"Hey Mikey!" Frank greeted.
"Alright, you 5'4 little shit," Mikey started. "I'll have you know that if you EVER hurt my big brother again, I will hit you on the head with a brick so fucking hard that it's gonna knock you down to the height of Peter fucking Dinklage. You can date my brother, but you need to keep him happy. If you fuck this up again, you will not have a third shot. Got it?"
Frank looked at me, and I could tell that he was holding back nervous laughter. "Uh, y-yeah, I got it. I won't fuck up again. You have my word, Mikes."
"Good. Now, with that said, how's life?"
"Uh, pretty swell, I guess," Frank nervously joked. "I heard you started a band?"
"Yeah, you should come to one of our shows. The band's name is Electric Century."
I chimed in, "Where's your next show?"
"Am I on speaker?" Mikey asked. Frank and I both burst out laughing. "Fuck you both," He stated sarcastically. "Also, the next show is a one-night at a bar named Envy. You guys should come, if you want to. It's on Halloween."
"What time?"
"9 at night."
I looked at Frank with eyes that said 'please?' He nodded. "We'll be there!" I exclaimed. "Can we go to dinner afterwards? Like, you, Frank, Mom and I?"
"That sounds awesome. I'm looking forward to it," He replied. I could hear the grin that he had on his face.
"I love you, Mikes."
"Love you too, Gee."
"Dammit, don't call me Gee," I laughed.
"I gotta go, Gee. I have a hot date with my very own hot guitar player."
"Alright kiddo," I chuckled. "See ya."
"Bye," He said before hanging up.
A tear sprang to my eyes. Mikey didn't know it, but that dinner would be the last time that I would see him.
A/N: Okay ngl this chapter made me a lil bit sad.
Anyways, I'm sick as frick (in the 'I have a cold' way, not the Tumblr way) and I feel like death
